    Hi all,

My friend and his father who have background in vehicle mechanics helped me install my 6112s yesterday. I’ve never done a coilover replacement so was worthless in the effort lol. Tried to learn, since I usually pay to have it done.

Anyway, I appreciate their time and help BUT wish I would have paid a reputable shop this time, too. Seems they pinched my UCA and LCA boots on both sides of truck to get leverage during install.

Saving money is a priority but I need the truck safe and how it should be, no corners cut. I went with this height so I didn’t need UCA for alignment etc. Hoping to avoid that.

What do I need to do to fix this issue the RIGHT way?

Is the truck safe to drive?

What do you guys think? Am I an idiot and the truck is fine?

(last pic is just another pic of the driver UCA bushing)

The lower ball joint boots look fine to me, but the uppers boots do look like they're split. That doesn't mean your truck is going to fly apart in the near future. (Unless you want to upgrade your Upper Control Arms. In which case "I wouldn't drive that around the block" ;))

Unless you're certain that your buddies did it during the install it could just be normal wear. What year is your truck? How many miles on it?

Thanks for The reply! Pretty sure they did it on install. 2014, 51k miles. I could “absolutely in no way shape or form be safe to drive it around the block”... but I don’t see much value in that upgrade right now per dollar spent :D thanks for the reply. I just want it operating as it should and not be scared to get it dirty.

You've already started the mod-life. There's no going back now. SPC adjustable upper control arms will work well with your 6112's.

Its fine. Looks like some grease came out moving things around. Wipe it off (or not) and drive it.
