i have the plastic slat Retrax, the plastic has hairline cracks that allow water into the bed and it never has stayed tight against the tailgate - it always twists a little and lets water in along the tailgate as well. Since it twists a little, it will also bind when trying to roll it up. The large drum for the slats to coil up into also takes up bed space. My truck came with it when i bought it used. I would rather have the bakflip to have full use of the bed under the cover

I also have the RetraxPro XR and I like it. I had a RetraxPro MX on my last truck and it was great. Not waterproof but I think the only totally waterproof cover you are going to find is something like an Undercover. The ability to lock the cover in any position is a definite plus.

I have the Retrax PRO XR, and installed myself and Love it. The metal holds up great so far down here in sunny land.

I have a Retrax One MX and like it very much. One handed retractable cover and super low profile. The plastic slats are not really slats, it's one piece that folds up. Water does not get in. Water may get in near the tailgate, but every tonneau can do that. I actually don't have a problem with water. It's not 100% dry, but it's not a problem. No water gets in on the sides.

The top is pretty strong for being plastic too. And the front rail is rigid aluminum. I wouldn't stand on the center of the cover, but the front part is definitely capable.

My only negative feedback is the stop, when you pull the cover closed, there is a plastic dowel screwed into a hole that stops the cover at a specific location. The dowel seems to come loose often. I fixed it with loctite on the metal screw. I also added some very thin metal shims so it closes more snug.

    Great cover, definitely would recommend.

Three screws and it was ready to go. All of 10 minutes. Get one, you’ll love it.

I have the RetraxPro XR and Yakima HD Bars combo. So far it’s been great! I debated between getting the One and Pro, but the longevity of the aluminum cover and the lifetime warranty on the Pro was worth the extra cost.

I like that integrated rack system. I don't think that was an option when I bought mine 4 or 5 years ago

I have the same cover and I get a little water by the tailgate seam, nothing under the cover itself. Checking out their website I just noticed they sell a gasket for that exact area, I might check it out.

Pro XR. Planning on putting a rooftop tent on it eventually. Wouldn’t do something like this without the lifetime warranty. Love it so far, very easy to operate and live with. Don’t know anything about the One, but I do know I trust the heavy, metal aspect and feel of this one. Expensive buy either way, wouldn’t cheap out on this. Our Tundras deserve the best...

I ended up buying one off of Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IPQWXZQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I keep forgetting to install it. Damn, it looks like earliest delivery is late April.

It took 45 minutes because I like to take my time. It’s really easy. Just need another helping hand to lift it onto the truck. YouTube has a tutorial.

I'm considering this exact same setup on my 2016 DC. Had a Leer topper with Yakima round bars on my last truck but I don't need to keep anything dry that is taller then the bed rails and I want to keep the versatility and looks of the open pickup bed. I occasionally need to haul something long for work on top like lumber or a ladder. but hate the look of normal ladder racks. the Yakima looks so much more sporty. I saw a couple reviews of this setup where guys had trouble with the side rails on the Retrax bending when mounting the Overhaul HD.(See video.) I had heard Yakima was working on a fix for this but don't know if that's true or if they've done it. Is this just from not paying attention and over tightening? You have any trouble with this?
