    Saves like 8 seconds of effort... So if you make $20/hr, that's 6 hours of money, 8 seconds goes into 6 hours 2700 times... Figure start the truck at least twice per day if you commute or drive somewhere, so that's 1350 days... So that means it pays for itself after ~3.7years!

    LOL!!! So my follow up question is... do you have to turn it off EVERY time you drive the truck? When would you need to have it turned off? Is just fun factor so you can do a burn out? Tires are expensive, I'm happy not doing burnouts ;-)

    I've had my truck almost 4 months now and until this thread popped up, I did not know know this option existed... Ignorance is Bliss ;-)

    So I park my truck in the alleyway, and it’s ice 6 months a year. I literally have to disable nannies to get it to start moving unless I’m in 4x4. I prefer 2 wheel drive unless 4x4 is needed, so I had to turn it on to start driving too in the past. I can assure you nannies have gotten smarter since 2008 are are much better in today’s newer vehicles. But, in 2008 they’re garbage imho. Plus it’s just nice to have power whenever I want. I just am old school when it comes to my drivetrains :)

    Now I just hit the command start, hop in and go. :)

    My problem is with the computer and the amount of power it pulls the instant it feels wheel spin. Its a matter of convenience to have it off all the time and to turn on when I really need the computers/trac controls help when raining.

    @Mountun Goat Ive had mine about 90 days, 1000-1100 miles. I noticed a slight slight uptick in MPGS on the dash I was always 10.5mpgs, now at 11.2 on the dash. Hand math MPGs last gas fill up was 10.86mpgs, so either way a slight improvement. (PS by no means am I selling these as a MPG improver, I think this is just an added feature of my aggressive driving, the computer is not fighting as much???)

    Albeit I don't have your bypass device, I too have noticed a small improvement in gas mileage running "Beast Mode" 100% of the time. My truck just runs/ shifts better w/ the nannies turned off. Especially w/ 37" tires.

    Speaking for myself, I haven't noticed any ill effects from having the nannies turned off. This is daily stop and go driving and 500 mile interstate travel as well. Nannies have been off religiously for that past 2500 miles or so.

    Believe it or not I got a GPS recorded 13.5mpg the other day and confirmed it when I filled up. Must of had a tailwind.:cool:

    I've been turning them off for probably 80,000 of my 83,000 miles. Usually before shifting out of Park. After shifting out of Park, the shifter "automatically" moves to the left! :D

    Btw Ive been cheaper shipped for mine then the 3rd gen one posted. I wish I could have a 3rd gen around to consistently test. I have jumpers run so I can easily plug and test these units before I send them out, the timings a little different.

    Its definitely one less thing for her to :rolleyes: at and just an added bonus to not worry about nannieas. She drove it the other day, thank god I have an Idrive throttle controller and turn it to economy mode 5 when she drives it.
