I replaced the old 255/70-18 Michelin LTX M/S2 tires with a new set of 255/70-18 Michelin LTX M/S2 tires, and I had the front end aligned. The truck rides smooth, and the old original spare was replaced with the best of the Michelin take-offs.

tried to fix the winch pulled the bumper down and everything. found the cable frayed and kinked so lookin into synthetic.

    0307201251[1].jpg

cable over wound and popped the dowel guides of the chassis off the motor and gear housing completely...

    0307201251a[1].jpg

ended up tossing the cable and now the drum doesn't engage anymore so i need to take that back apart and look at it before i can put any synthetic rope in there.

You do any recovery pulls with the winch and DV8 bumper? Any flexing or problems with the winch tray moving?

well one of the reasons that the cable was a rats nest was because i had self recovered out of my freind's snow covered yard on the bottom of a hill. the bumper took it like a champ and the winch plate stayed put. but the winch is another thing it's a POS... i had originally left a 3/4 inch gap for any body flex but there really isn't any.

Anyone tried out Harbor Freight's new 12,000 lb winch. They've released an updated model and from what I've heard, has been getting great reviews

i bought the older Badlands 12k used a long time ago about seven years ago it worked fine all of two years that it was installed. slow and draws a shit ton of amperage and power wires need to be bigger dont know if they addressed those in the new version. also gear leaver would get stuck a lot but all that i need to do was bump the controller in or out to move freely. also the cable is crap frays and kinks really easy, but that must have been my lack of maintenance....

Then again there has been a few new models since i got it so i cant really speculate on the new version.

I did something to my 2007 that was so simple to do that I can't believe I had never done it before, I cleaned my MAF. I cleaned the throttle body a few times, but I never messed with the MAF. The MAF didn't look dirty, but what a difference after I cleaned it! The 5.7 is much more responsive, I will be cleaning this part more often.
