All the concerts at Clayton's are cancelled but people are still on the beach partying. I've been bulk grocery shopping at Sam's Club in Reynosa cause people over there aren't freaking out buying 100 packs of toilet paper

    Holy crap, I've been busy.
New job gave me a couple of months to get settled and then BAM!
Doesn't help that we're short four techs in my group. They are currently in the pipeline to get hired but due to COVID-19, onboarding has been shut down.
Never thought that a Mexican beer company would have me running around as much as I have.

I see a VooDoo Blue Tundra over a Bert's that looks mighty attractive. I like my 2018 Tundra but without 4x4, I really can't go out to Boca Chica or way up South Padre for surf fishing.

Barely. Damn near died of exhaustion on Friday.
I took last Monday off just as a day off. Requested it the week before not knowing the COVID-19 shitshow that would happen.
Due to COVID-19 and things at work that needed to happen because of policy change, I worked six hours OT Wednesday night.
Thursday at 3:45pm, just as I'm about to leave work, the request comes through that fifty laptops need to be imaged for teleworkers. The teleworkers will be taking possession of them at 7am Friday morning.
Myself and another tech did thirty. Two other techs did twenty.
I walked out of work Friday morning at 3:45am with thirty laptops re-imaged and ready for telework deployment.
I crawled into bed at 4:15am then back up at 7am for work.
A full day at work doing emergency type things. Dead tired the whole day. I haven't been that tired in a long time.
After dinner, I took an hour nap. That felt really good.
Went to bed around 11pm last night. I slept until 11am today.
Woke up to numerous emails from work this morning. Telework for us starts Monday. Two days a week, two of the four techs will work on site with our office door closed. We only come out to work on an issue then back inside. Three days a week we will work from home. One of those three days we, the teleworking techs, can actually go in if needed. The other two days we are personae non gratae at a work site unless it's an absolute emergency where the other techs can't get to it. The four of us have our own work site but will go to another work site if needed. Our team's schedule is setup so that there is always two techs at their individual site.

Be safe just read this about Louisiana :(

    FROM LOUISIANA TO THE VALLEY

The coronavirus has been here for days. All we can do now is wait it out... many more cases will be confirmed in the following days.

Louisiana has reported a 65.7% daily increase in cases in the first 15 days... the highest in the world, including Italy.

COVID-19 killed 19 people in Louisiana the last 24 hours; 40% increase from the day before. The death toll is now at 65.

1,795 people have tested positive out of 11,451.

    WHY IS THAT OUR PROBLEM?

Many people from all over the Rio Grande Valley travel to Louisiana for work, and many of them have returned in the last 2-3 weeks since the virus first emerged in the state.

The new construction of refineries during the oil boom gave opportunities to thousands of people without an education, and that otherwise would have to rely on minimum wage, to make a lot of money.

The catch is that they have to risk their lives driving long distances and work 12-hour shifts in hazardous conditions. Now, many of them have been exposed to droplets from their coworkers.

This coronavirus can survive in the air for up to 3 hours; 4hrs on copper; 2-3 days on steel; 3 days on plastic. It doesn’t take a genius to know many of them will bring it home to grandma or their newborns.

Sadly, they are also more likely to dismiss the epidemic and social restrictions as stupid and do a barbecue as soon as they get home.
