Gas was 88.9 here in WPG, topped up my half tank on the Tundra. We didn't get hit with snow yet, supposed to get 10-15cm by Monday and we are around -12.

I don't hunt but I'm a slingshot shooter and only targets (cans). I can hit the head off a match from 33', but never shot at anything living. Many guys in the Slingshot world take small game like squirrel and birds to eat. It always looks tasty but not for me, maybe rabbit, but even that doesn't appeal to me.

For now, there are still a few items left in the grocery store. No milk, no pizza, no TP, no rice.

Yeesh. People are dumb cleaning out stores like that.

I have a slingshot too. I need to practice more with it. I also have a compound bow that I'm a fair shot with. Taken a few grouse using it but never big game.

I make handmade naturals in my spare time and have a shooting alley at the side of my house. It's a fun hobby I took up a few years ago.

Those are sweet sling shots. Theres something satisfying about slinging something hard and dangerous at ridiculous speeds with just a rubber band and a stick. Ive never hunted but i would love the process of it. Just getting out in the elements and taking care of yourself and family in the most raw way possible sounds really appealing. The core value of it is just like people getting off the grid and not having to entirely rely on the global economy. Im sure after this is all said and done there may be a few prepper converts.

Anyhow gas is 93 cents here in OwenSound down from 1.15 last week. And the 3-5 feet of snow we had a week ago is all gone, revealing the sad state of my yard littered in an entire winters worth of dog poops.

    Cant wait for spring!

Those are beautiful. Do you sell them?

This is the clunker I have, probably 20+ years old. The band is likely 10+ years old so time to change it.

Nah, just make them for fun and make the odd trade and/or give them away etc.

Nowadays, most tubes come from China in much smaller diameter but the majority of shooters use Flat latex. Theraband Gold (used in medical industry for resistance training and rehab) or Chinese flat latex is used

I've tested my speed on a chronograph and had it up just over 300 fps. I'd guess my everyday target shooting is around 220fps. It's a good balance of speed to power. Works well for can shooting.

Here are most of my supplies and frames in storage for winter.

    IMG_20200314_161424.jpg

And one of my better shots...in slowmo. Cutting the thin edge of a card with 3/8" steel ammo with one shot.

A grown man shooting a slingshot in the woods or walking along the riverbank when camping, draws the odd look. I've never had anyone complain, most are actually quite intrigued by them.

As for the yard ....my few months of dog turds are still frozen and just peaking out. I'm not looking forward to the spring clean. I try to get them when they are still frozen but removeable from the snow or grass and just hope the bag I'm using doesn't break before it hits the garbage can.

Oh man....I guess I'm not heading to Costco for Heluva dip and Kettle chips.

I asked one of our kids if they wanted to go. He could sit in the box and shout "toilet paper for sale" as he waves with a roll in hand

Turns out gas dropped to 82.9 here so i filled my truck for $68. Thats with driving with my gas light on for 30 km.

As for my yard i dont even bother cleaning it up i let the rain and sun do its thing and its all gone by mid may. The grass is usually a little extra greener in the turd zones.

Our son is in band, tuba. They want him to being his home tuba for this week and they are going to do continue practice.

Don't they realize, even if you play your own instrument, you are still blowing spit and bacteria though the instrument and into the air out the other end with the other 30 kids in the small room?

The Woman's college is closed. No classes for the next 3 days and then they'll be finishing the year online. They haven't figured out what to do for exams yet.

It's not possible for me to work from home. We're still working for now, but things are sketchy at best. No new work is coming in, so what we have is what we got. It should last a few months...maybe. Anyone who shows even the slightest symptoms of a cold is being sent home. Our hypochondriac boss is shutting himself in his office and avoiding all leadership duties, sluffing it off on the lead hands. Leadership has never been this company's strong point, so that's nothing new though.

We are still fully staffed. I'm guessing the first person in our organization that gets it, we will implement the in place contingency plan.

I work in an essential service role, but my department has limited contact with the public and if the courts shut down, it will make it easier to justify sending us home.
