We've had a great exchange of ideas about shop organization and storage in the Lunch Table thread. My garage and my basement shop are both disaster zones, and I need some inspiration.

Share your pics & ideas of what you've done to improve your man cave, shop, or garage!

Here's most of my garage from the beginning of last summer.
Since then, there is a MaxJax where the red cart is, the compressor has been moved to an adjacent room, the drill press & bench grinder have been moved to my mini 'machine shop', a cabinet added, the fridge removed, the stereo moved, a hammer cabinet installed, a shelf built into the welding table, and a bunch of other changes that are escaping me at present.
    IMG-4502.jpg
Look past the bracket and see the mini 'machine shop' where there were 3 cabinets previously as well as the hammer cabinet now above the welding table.
    IMG-5291.jpg

Here's the back right corner more recently. You can see the shelf under the welding table. (the toolbox on it holds all my grinders and associated wheels, guards, fittings, etc.) The huge cabinet in the middle was a FREE Craigslist score. Came from a doctor's office. It's great because it's not too deep, has dividers inside, and closes up nice and tight.

    IMG-4764.jpg

Here's one of the tools I've gotten the most use out of for overhauling the garage.
It's 100% accurate to scale of the garage and the major components. I was planning on expanding the garage into the adjacent bike room where the compressor is, but it wasn't going to provide as much space as I thought. I'm glad I spent an hour measuring and drawing and not several hours destroying my house.
    IMG-5098.jpg

There have been some more changes and updates. I'll try to remember to snap some pix this weekend while I'm out there.

I'm deep in the trailerhood; no garage for me. I keep all my tools in my work van parked next to my driveway, and have a bunch of crap next to my table inside. My "workbench" is a long beer pong table behind Bessie. Whatever vehicle I'm working on gets parked in the back and the other gets moved to the front like musical cars. I need to move.

Basic garage but it's big enough to fit all 3 vehicles (power wheels count as well right)? IMG_3133.jpg

I have a smaller 10x12 'shop' that I keep all the wood stuff as well as the compressor so I can't hear it when I remotely turn it on from the garage when using the automotive air tools which I love. Still needs the spring cleanup since I've been too busy recently and it kills me everytime I open the door!
    IMG_5814.jpg
My 'Man Cave is comprised of a few different basement rooms. Got the theater room, roughed out bathroom that currently hosts the foosball table (free roadside find)
    IMG_8655.jpg
and then the office/poker room that is currently taken up by house remodeling plans and such.

@bmf4069 I wish I had pics of when I had a studio apartment a fee years ago. I had parts under the kitchen sink, tool boxes stacked up a wall, car parts (including spare tire) under the bed, my ottoman was full of tools. I remember my girlfriend (now married to her) came out of the bathroom with a bottle of K&N filter spray asking "is this what you clean the counter with?"

We later upgraded to a single bedroom apartment and I had this "garage", which included doing stair workouts every time I had to take tools and parts to the parking lot to work on a car (even carry a floor jack).

The day we moved out was a glorious one, heres some of what I had in that closet
    20190618_185824.jpg

I'll post some pics of the new garage later. Maybe I'll even start a build thread :D

Yeah, I remember pics of you working on it in the parking lot. The bad thing about mine is I had a nice house I built in 2006 with a nice 2 car garage the I had build wider and longer to accommodate 2 cars comfortably. I was able to fit a 4 door LB truck and a grand Cherokee in there, open all the doors, and close the garage door. Then the ex wife factor kicked in.

Haha I hear ya man! On our third apartment in five years. Have had tools, hunting and fishing stuff, even concrete tools all over the place. I manage to keep it organized though. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom this year so yup the 2nd bedroom is full. Oh and then a bunch of stuff at my parents haha the struggle is real.

The whole house is steel framed. 2 big ol beams in the garage. 3 in the basement. 3 for the steel framed deck too.

This house is built to survive the worst of tornados lol

makes sense. I never thought of that as I live in the best place in USA, that'd be the upper left :D No tornados, hurricanes, monsoons, typhoons, earthquakes, volcano explosions (well pretty much unheard of), tsunamis, or auto damaging hail.
