There’s a few tutorials on YouTube but id be happy to answer any questions.

5 coats VHT on the unused portion of the light, 2 coats over the brake light, none over the cargo lamps. Then 4 coats of clear to hopefully keep this shine for a while.

Used my work light to try and show off the reflection, and the transparency of the center section.

Did you just use masking tape and then use an exacto to trim the exact shape of the reverse lights?

I actually just very carefully taped it. No exacto involved. Tape the cargo lights first. Then tape the 3rd brake light area with pull tabs so i could easily remove it. Sprayed the surround very dark, pulled off the tape in the center, then sprayed a couple layers. Pulled off the tape over the cargo area then Sanded it all smooth, then clear coated. Then buffed it.

Last pic has one thin coat over the center. The discoloration through the center portion of the light is the carboard box the light is sitting on. It had white and black on it

Could you just spray inside so you don't have to use gloss or buff the outside? Would the lights burn the paint?
