Some where in the range of 18-19 mpg. Around 15-17 mpg with the tundra. I don’t worry about getting stuck on the side of the road now though. I’ll take the mpg hit for piece of mind.

    -FANBOY ALERT-

Consumer Reports just rated the “outdated” “prehistoric” “behind the times” “dropped the ball” Tundra AHEAD of ALL the glitzy, amenity-rich competition.

Ford is still taking a dump, and the result is the F series.

    Chevy? Choke
    Dodge? No
    Nissan? Negative, still trailing.

Sales people are funny in 2007 my ex wife was busting my balls that she wanted the new Jeep JK unlimited was the first year for the 4door so she wanted to trade in my 2002 4runner Sport that I got brand new in 01 in 7 years we had 84k miles on it all original except for 1 brake job the sales lady tells me “you guys made a wise decision this is where all Toyota’s come to die” I was so mad about her comment cause I been an Auto technician all my life and know Jeep Chrysler Dodge is garbage My 4runner was top of the list on safety and reliability I walked away she kept her garbage Jeep then in 08 I had no more balls left and had to trade it in for an 08 Jeep Unlimited Sahara and what a piece of crap it was Before 40k miles it was on its 2nd engine 2 fuel tanks 1 hard top 2 rack and pinion rusted door hinges 1 Mygig radio 4 ignition switches and 2 starters luckily we had Lifetime power train and bumper to bumper warranty she kept it in the divorce and in 2012 i heard it needed a transmission that’s was her problem warranty did not want to fix it. So dont believe what sales person say they just trying to take your money buy watever makes you happy every month when your making that car payment

Bud, my heart goes out to you. No disrespect, but it sounds like you got rid of two headaches.

Ps: The funny thing is that the wrangler holds so much value for a piece of shit. I never understood that.

Similar story. I bought a 2008 Chevy Impala as a commuter car brand new. I put about 100k on it and gave it to the ex when we got divorced. She drove it for another 120k miles and replaced just about everything but the engine..new tranny, fuel pumps, you name it. She gave it to our son who drove it for a couple more years until the tranny went out again at 265k miles. The one good thing was the 3.5L V6... great engine.

Texas smart ass......but not engineered and designed here, and parts are not from Mexico or China. :ohsnap: Then what, Texas plant does it there way, then major frame recall. The American way, cut corners and save money.

My 2018 2.7L Ecoboost F150 oil leaking pile of shit is being traded in on a 2020 Tundra next week. The 4th oil pan is now starting to leak and the multiple electrical issues have pushed me over the edge and into a Tundra.

Same story with GM. Most owners report that the trucks built in Mexico seem to be higher quality in some cases than the ones built in the U.S.

My 2019 TRD PRO headlights were made in Mexico. They came right out of the box with a bit of dust inside the lenses...thought about returning them but lots of other guys had the same issue so I lived with it.

like one side sitting lower than the other, or bed/axles off center so one tire sticks out further? How about passenger seat crammed into the console while driver side seat has about 2” gap? Backseat shaking at highway speed even after multiple alignments, tire balance/swap? Interior pieces turning green or weather stripping on doors peeling off after 10,000 miles?

is that the tight, High quality manufacturing you speak of?

Hey Mafia, I think that the author of the post you quoted was referring to Ford’s historic poor reliability that is rooted in poor quality control.

He contrasted that poor execution with Toyota’s consistent quality control and predictable reliability.

I think that’s what he meant.

Same here AND I had a turn signal lamp out literally 3 seconds into driving off the lot. Got the hyper fast blinker....pulled it at an auto store and noticed it was filled with some kind of white goo.

    Weirdest thing...

I'll take headlight issues over the utter madness any day.

Yea Cam Phasers have been a problem since 07 on GM 3.4L part of the problem lack of crankcase ventilation and not changing motor in a timely matter I have done so many phasers and timing chains on Gm cause the oil was so clumped up that it would plug up the oil pump pick up tube and all the oil feed orifices on the head cams and phasers. Ford uses kind of same set up.

I had this bullshit on my 5.4. What a headache. Sounded like a diesel at times lol. Also my spark plug busted while changing them and it was a disaster to remove. Took three new Fords trucks and then I learned my lesson to move to a different brand.

Toyota has their quality control system perfected. The others realized it and are starting to follow, but they are not anywhere near where they have to be. It's difficult to change a company's culture overnight.
