Going to buy some tires next month. Buy three get fourth free at Toyota 275/60R20. Would you go with the BF Goodrich which has up to 50K warranty ot the Toyo which has up to 65K warranty. It almost seems to me like the Toyo tires are calling my name. Cost is only like $20 total difference out the door. I’ve owned BF Goodrich before but, never any Toyo tires. What are your thoughtS/can someone attest to Toyos reliability?

    No experience with ko2.

The toyos are good but they dont have the best traction on wet services. Its not bad, but the stock Michelins have better wet pavement traction. But off road and snow were excellent.

I'd go with the Toyos. If ran a few different sets of Nitto/Toyo tires and had good experiences with them. I've ran two sets of BFG tires and they were terrible. The sidewalls on the K02 set were weak and lost chunks, the tread life was terrible (down to 5/32nd on one at 10,000 miles), and the wet traction was sub-par.

I ran the KO's on my Tacoma for about 60k miles. They had plenty of tread left when I sold them, and still rode smooth (as smooth as new, which is surprisingly smooth). I was complete shit about rotation. I bet they were rotated four times ever, but they were still great after all that mileage. They did fine in the rain, and in 4WD necessary conditions they performed without issue.

Are you after Looks and/or Performance in off-road(ish) conditions?

In my experience, those tires make road noise staring at about 35mph. One either 'accepts' or not.

I went away from noise and tried Michelin LTX AT2s, they turned out to be better in my off-road conditions (lots of stable rock, loose rocks, sand, mud, cactus, stumps, gravel, ect) not to mention the on road manners, super quite, handle rain well too. They do have edge snipes for off-road gripping, that's all they need. Luck.

I’d consider the Falken Wildpeak, Cooper At3xlt, and new Toyo Open country over either of these. I love the Falken tires so far.

Having had both, KO2 and it wasn't close. Toyos slid around in the rain, and were barely ok in the snow. KO2s get the snowflake rating, better wet traction (IMO). Treadwear warranty's are squirrelly at best. You have to prove a whole bunch of shit usually when making a claim.

BF GoodRich have been on all my trucks and have performed very good never had any issues when aired down for off road running, Highway running or in deep snow, wet roads never heard of or seen "chunking off" on them and as for Road noise really very minimal not as quite as grandma's land yacht but come on it is a truck! Just do the rotation thing so they wear even.

My choices are based on my uses which are for the ice and snow in the winter and deep sugar sand on the outer banks.

So in the last 10 years I have run the following on Rubicons, Tacomas and 3/4 and 1 ton Ram trucks.

The Falkens are nice, snow rated and balance well but lacked grip in the rain.
The KO2s are awesome but tough to balance bot good wear out of them.
Duratracs are my favorites and that’s what I just put on my Tundra.

You may be able to see them in my media album, I have 9 different trucks there. The two blacked out 3/4 tons are brother and sister( one is a hemi and the other a CTD).

The KO2 he is looking at don’t have the snowflake rating. Only the KO2 without a mileage warranty use the compound that is snowflake rated.

Agree that the KO2s are a bit of a pain to balance the Duratracs look good however have you ever aired them down for off road running? and my other concern with them is the lower load rating.

Toyo just announced their ATIII so I choose that.

I have gone through 10 BFGs in the past month trying to get them to balance.

I can’t stand my Toyo ATII’s. Any wetness and they’ll spin at every intersection and turn.

I have had the Toyota AT II on my last two trucks, the current ones have almost 70000 miles and still decent tread left on them. I use them on the beach, in the snow and rain and have never had an issue with them. I am looking hat the Toyo AT 3s that just came out for my next set.

295/70/18. Discount tire is giving me a trade in price for my OEM defenders and the Toyos.
