    Hey.
I see the 89/49 gains with long tube jba and 3” dual exhaust.

What kind of numbers would I/we see with headers and say DD 8” single? I know lower but how much?

    thanks

Yeah, but how much more than a BAMuffler cat back with a single stock tail pipe?

You might lose 10hp at top and a bunch under the curve for torque i assume.

    A BUNCH under...
    :)

Exactly! I can’t find any #’s to replace MIGHT and BUNCH.

Have you thought about the execution?? the collector on the LT headers is 3". At what point in the system will you reduce it??

Into Mid pipe I’d assume would be logical. Although assume and logical should never be in same sentence

Well installing LT headers with a 3" collector and reducing to a 2.5" (or whatever it is) exhaust isn't logical so I'm not sure what you're thinking is here

Thinking I don’t want duals. Thinking I don’t want warranty issues with a SC so that’s out.

I could do a DD 8” system and maybe pick up a little TQ or...

Thinking a happy medium may be LT headers down to a single out 8” DD. Pick up XX amount of tq yet not deal with duals towing.

I’m thinking there Nothing wrong with considering options before opening wallet.

Is it the sound level you're worried about?

Sound level in day to day driving plus duals pointed at trailer for 1,000+ miles at a shot.

I’ll be firing a call to DD soon

    Thx

I just went from 8" system to JBA LT headers with full 3" exhaust, 4 cats in the mid pipes, 24"x5" glass packs.

The sound level is exactly the same. The new setup sounds much better, but sound level wise they really similar.

Completely different usage than myself. I know those dual you have would be brutal after a couple hours towing

    If you say so

I'm basically towing 2500 lbs with me everywhere I go

Just call Keith and talk to him

is the 2500 lbs a wall 4feet away from dual tips catching the exhaust noise?

I did call. He’s never dyno’d the headers with the 8” system. Great chat-good guy. Understood my concerns with towing/duals.

My conversation with him answered a few questions and raised a couple more.

    we shall see...

Do the LT heads remove the cats? I’m guessing that’s where much of the power gain comes from. Thanks.

The power gain is made in the headers themselves. Long tubes of the correct length scavenge exhaust gasses out of the cylinder better and that's where the power increase comes from.

You can run headers wide open and get the same power, but it would be too loud.

The key is to build an exhaust that doesn't restrict the headers or the gasses will build up and the headers won't be able to scavenge properly.

Cats are in the mid pipes, you can get mid pipes with or without cats. Keith claims there is no difference in power between cats or no cats because the flow is similar. He took my factory cats and cut the ends off which made the inlet /outlet 3" and used those to build a 3" catted mid pipe

Anything less than a full 3" out of the headers will restrict flow and reduce power

I paid $700 to install headers, mid pipes and trd tail pipes. I believe Keith at dirty deeds says it about a 8 hr job

    :devil::devil::devil::devil:
I have a very similar set up. Jba LT with with a set of cats(2 total) in mid pipes and 24x5 dirtydeeds mufflers with factory trd pipes. I tow a 5000 boat plus a lot of camping gear for about 3hrs one way and at 70 mph it not bad until it downshifts for a hill then EVERYONE around you knows you don’t have a stock truck, I love it haha
