What is the smallest Bora spacer that I can install without cutting the factory wheel studs? I need a half inch more backspace to run the UCA’s that I want. If I go to big my tires will go further into the bumper. Tires are 275/65/20’s and I’m already using a half inch bumper spacer with all the plastic pushed in. Leveled with 5160’s to the top.

Depends on the truck year. I have 1.25 on mine, i doubt i could run a 1. Some of the newer trucks guys are able to run the 1 inch. Pull a wheel and measure your studs.

And for knowledge purposes, you’re trying to have less backspace, not more. Think of backspace as the overhang from the mounting surface

What wheels are you running? I'm using 1" Boras with OE TRD Off Road wheels. The studs on the front wheels don't stick out at all but the rear do probably about an eighth of an inch. The Off Road wheels have knockouts that leave a little room for the studs.

As I remember you can use 1“ Bora spacers on the front end without trimming the studs but you’ll need to go 1.25” for the rear end (at least with my Fuel wheels).

How would one cut the studs clean without destroying the thread pattern?

I would be worried that cutting them would heat them up and maybe weaken them? Is the 1/4 inch worth it?

A grinder or any other tool you have that will shave down the stud. Hold to the tip and grind it flat. Take your time and check the threads by spinning on a nut by hand. If you have a thread chaser even better. Don’t worry about heat, the stud won’t be getting red hot.

Put a proper sized nut on the stud (shorter than the cut you’ll make) and once the cut is made, smooth the stud with a wire wheel then remove the nut and it will clear the threads making them usable again.

You can even use the nut to guide your grinder and at the same time protecting the threads. Two nut are preferable in that situation. (That’s what she said?)

Ps I have 1.25 inch spacers, no cutting, 2.9 inch lift, 275,65,r18 and they hardly rub. Which UCA’s? I have the JBA’s
