New to this Incredible Site: 2019 TRD Sport 4x4?

New guy question: After a few days of scouring through all the great posts that could possibly help me on this forum I am at the point I still need yall's help.
Background: I am on my 3rd set of tires in less than 3 months when I bought it in December...….yea, CRAZY as heck but "I ain't feeling it" with any of these tires!
1. Does the SPORT give this truck more clearance for beefier tires? I don't want to lift or level this truck but want to fill this wheel well more. I have seen the tire charts on here but none talk about it being a Tundra TRD Sport 4x4.....or does that even matter? The TRD sport model has the front and rear RED sway bars on it if that helps anyone. I have no idea what else makes it a sport besides the grill and bumpers. Maybe y'all can tell me that also.....lol!
2. Can I keep my factory installed mud flaps and NOT cut anything and get away with 285/55/20...….. or preferably 285/65/20 on this truck. (Currently have Nitto's 275/60/20) Tire guy claims Tundra's can easily take Nitto's 285/55/20s, but the middle number is going the wrong direction! He says I wont notice the decrease in height with the wider tire/beefier tire.....hum, thoughts?
3. Bottom line, without a lift or leveling kit what is ACTUALLY the largest high quality/high end tire that can be put on this TRD SPORT version. Gotta get it right this time.....lol.

Thanks, I have seen that about tire sizes while reading all the threads that could help. But it is not totally helping me with this SPORT designation. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me further than this chart.

 

The Sport is the same as any other SR5 Tundra except for the appearance package, the sway bars, and tuned shocks as far as i know from mine. What tires have you tried, and what were the problems you had with them, Just looks?

 

The looks primarily! My 07' Limited Tundra was not 4x4 and looked great with street Michelin's. The "wheel well" on this sport looks cavernous as compared to my old Limited.

I hear ya!.. I'm going to try a slightly oversized Cooper AT3 XLT on my stock 20" rims when they wear out and see how it looks. If still not happy, time for a new setup...

Exactly what Tilly said. I have the the same model. It more tuned for street driving, hence the front and rear sway bars, street tuned suspension, and 20” rims.

Remove the sway bars, change the suspensions, change to 18” rims and you’ve got an off-road version.

 

Thanks guys! I am at the tire shop removing the 275/65/20s...………….putting on 285/55/20s! If this don't look right I will definitely either change rim size or geaux with a leveling kit...……….if not both!

 

You got it nailed. I am going with tire set number 4 as I type......lol. Glad this place has a decent policy for unsatisfied customers. All in it is only about $525 to get this bigger set of Nitto's.

 

You’re going from a 34” to a 32” tire?

 

I just measured my 275/65/20 Cooper AT3 XLT @45 psi and it's measure 33.25".

 

Honestly, it’s the 20” wheel in my opinion. I have a sport as well, check out the difference between the 18” wheel on the front and the 20” wheel on the back. Both have street tires. The 18 looks a lot more aggressive imo.
