Did anyone ever find out how to fabricate the back seat mechanism into reclining for the 3rd Gen Tundras?

You could maybe do some fabrication to allow the seat bottoms to slide forward while the seat backs recline. I haven’t seen this done.

@1engineer .....The 2nd Gen Tundra Rear Seats could recline and the 3rd Gen one are fixed. they can only fold up.

Understood. In my 2019 Crewcab, the seats are designed to maximize space and no place to recline as the top of seat hits the back of cab.

Someone recently posted changing the rear Gen 3 with the Gen 2 for this very reason.

I am wondering if anyone has made the rear seat backs fold down? I think there is valuable storage space under there and I would like easier access to it. Has anyone done this?

Would double cab 2nd gen seats fit in a 3rd gen double cab. And retain the reclining seat function

This sounds like a solution to a problem that doesn’t effect anyone.

This is exactly correct. Can't go out and have way too much time on my hands. I don't want to waste anyone's time. I will stop adding to this post. Thanks to everyone who participated.

There's a video from the toyota interior design guy, and they polled tundra customers. It was a strong majority vote for folding the bottom up instead of slide and recline, so Toyota listened.
