Intake question

Just put airflow accelerator and charcoal delete. Should the intake hose butt up to this nub or cover it?

I am waiting for my afe dry drop in as well. All three together make a better flowing intake. There is a ton of back and forth wether it does anything at all. I’m trying it to get some more sound out of it with my trd dual exhaust. The part is only 14 bucks and the charcoal delete is free. I figure why not try it. Old vs new and the thick sheet of charcoal that the air coming in has to go through.

 

I did the same including the SABM

 

Okay please enlighten me what is the differences between this and a cold air intake.

 

I did the flow accelerator, added afe dry filter and didn't notice anything different. First time for me hearing about the charcoal delete, what's that suppose to do?

 

Is this an aftermarket part or one from another vehicle?

 

Cheaper and used things you already have. Tundra has a true cold air intake as it pulls air from the tire well.

 

Takes away more restriction. The air comes into the intake then has to pass through that 5 layers of crap.

 

It’s a factory part from Toyota. Toyota of cool springs has them for like 14 bucks. It’s a trd airflow accelerator.

 

I’m trying to pull more sound out of the intake for my trd dual exhaust. Some people say 2mpg gain some people say 5hp loss some say nothing. I’ll judge it after I get the drop in. But again I’m looking for noise. It’s not a 50hp gain mod by any means but it’s cheap and gets you out into the garage for a little while

 

The stock one that came with my pro is on the left and the new trd one is on the right. The mouth is shaped different and it goes a little further into the tire well.

 

I’m scared to make that cut hahah

I haven’t driven it yet but I’ll tell you right now just from a cold start it sounds better. My truck would be at a higher rpm than it is and whine. I’ll update after a ride though. Again I did it for the sound not HP/gas/torque gains or loses.
