Anyone running this setup? I currently have it on and it definitely is a lot rougher than I thought. Running 35” ko2 on my setup. I’d like to get some feedback from people with this similar setup.

    More than likely your tires.

What the load range and PSI?

I'm running ADS, 35 KO2s load range E at 35psi F, 30psi rear and happy with the ride quality.

E rated tires are stiffer, but yes icons are very rough at low speeds and small bumps

I never understood shocks in depth before i bought them, don’t get me wrong, icons are high quality, ive had them for 10 years, still in great shape, but they ride like crap on the road.

I will say, they corner very very well. They are designed to be able to take huge hits at speed, not be smooth on the highways

My Tacoma with Icon 2.5s and E load KO2s rides very stiffly on the street.

When it came time to to do something with the Tundra, took a leap of faith and went with Elka adjustable front and rear and Falken AT3W in E. I know, very different trucks, but what a difference. Now when it is time to hit the dirt I dial up the compression adjusters to suit. Best of both worlds.

Hmm I have 3.0 Icons and have not found them to be stiff, as others have said maybe too much PSI in your tires?

Yeah I have the E load with 35psi front and rear. I understand they are digressive shocks but didn’t think they would be this stiff at stock setting.

your tires definitely make for a stiff harsher ride. How much preload do you have on the shocks. I recently lowered my icon to pretty much stock length and they ride beautifully. Soft but not spongy.

I added 1/4” to the stock height or factory setting. Still below 2” of thread for sure

I have icon 3.0 fronts and 2.5 rears on 35” Ridge Grapplers and the truck rides and handles extremely well. I am no expert at this but also adding new UCA significantly improved handling.

Even when I had my Icons 2.5’s with 1.50 inches of preload the ride was not harsh.

I was going to say that I thought it was inch and a half of threads, not two inches for the ICON 2.5

max they recommend is 2 inches of preload.
When I first installed them I had 2 inches of preload but it was way over 3 inches of lift. It was easy 3.5 to 4 inches of lift.

Im suprised they didnt use more rubber and not have that tall aluminum spacer thing.

Do your icons have the adjuster knob? Mine are ifp, which i assume are the stiffest. I’ll bet yours are a little smoother than mine

I just recently put this set up on my 2015. Getting rid of the rear blocks and adding the Coach Builder shackles along with the Coach Builder tie rod ends, had the alignment done to a lifted truck spec, this set up dramatically improved the ride. I am running the tire pressure at 42 LBS. I could not be happier with ICON's.IMG_0859.jpg IMG_0858.jpg IMG_0855.jpg IMG_0968.jpg IMG_0971.jpg 80773708_10212563214595029_4195731586999648256_o.jpg

Which CB tie rods ends specifically are you running? Was this needed or taking preventive steps for future problems? Thanks

So far I really like them. The ride is nice, handles great, does have a bit of road noise but that doesn't bother me as I have 2 amps and 2 10"s behind the seat LOL
