What brand are your running boards?

 

Havoc HST, I have had Amp steps for the last 5 or 6 years on my trucks and didn’t want to spend close $1400+ for them so I was skeptical these.

You can pull them in towards the truck or adjust them up to the body of the truck, I have them out and away and you can actually use them as a step. Another good thing is they are about 7” wide so plenty wide for footing AND them will stop most door dings.

 

Speaking of dings, I got a nasty door ding the other day. Buffing got most of it out but it has a dent that I keep looking at and its driving me insane. My brother told me I should have got the same wide steps after the fact. I should have done that looking back but I hate side steps and they collect so much snow and salt here up north. Anyway, shit happens.

Nice looking rig by the way. The wheel and truck colour is real boss. The Decked system looks good too, but so much cheese for it.

 

That sucks about the door ding, my wife got one that is all the way to metal so I feel your pain. I bought one of those paint repair pens from the dealership and from 20’ away it looks good.

These running boards are stout (Powder coated steel)for not being rock sliders. I weigh about 225 and can jump on them with no sign of weakness.

I got them from Real Truck for about $525 plus tax, I ordered a different board from them and didn’t like them. They were too flimsy, called them up and got return shipping for free and the new ones came in 2 days.

 

Thanks for the info pal , I will look into them and order them as I hate dings more than anything and I park so far away. I’m assuming the boards don't require drilling ?

Lastly, how you find the Decked system ?

 

Drilling none required, all threaded mounting holes are there already. I have air so this helped a lot but put both sides on by myself in about 45 minutes. Once brackets were loosely installed slid a 40 qt cooler under the rear bracket and rested the back end of the step on the cooler. Rolled under the truck, with bolt in my hand raised other end up and bolted in place and worked my way down the 4 brackets.

Decked opinion - too early to tell but
Pros - easy access to all tools and recovery gear
No reaching into a tool box from the side and then ultimately having to climb in the bed to get what you need

cons - as I see them hauling stick lumber (biggie) sheet material no problem
Raising a full 5 gallon gas can on top from the ground?

 

Looking good! Let's see some more shots once you have those drawers filled up! We love seeing everyone's customizations and organization with our system.

 

Got the fender flares yesterday evening will install and post some picks later today.

Got the 50 messages with all the mod pics I have contributed in less than 2 weeks.
I won’t have 30 days in till the 23rd and hope to have those out of my shop before then.

 

Got the letters installed, great heavy product with 3m adhesive. Now just have to find the 4 x 4 emblem in black.
