2011 Tundra TRD SR5 5.7L Power Steering Pump Replacement

Looked all over the DIY threads and other places to post these instructions on the how-to of the replacement. I unfortunately get to tackle this wonderful task in the morning. Anyways long story short attached are the steps to replacing a power steering pump on a 2nd Gen Tundra 5.7L

 

If any of the pics uploaded twice my apologies. I did it with one eye open running on empty. Will let you know the outcome of difficulty level. Book says it’s a 3.7hr job so 7hr replacement here I come

 

Any follow up on how this went? I started experiencing some power steering issues last night, and found what looks to be a small leak evidenced by power steering fluid nicely splashed all under the fluid reservoir... not sure if I have to replace anything/everything yet... but hoping my worst case scenario, which is replacing everything wont be too bad.

Apologies for the late response, I’ve been swamped. I followed the info I posted and it was pretty easy but tedious, definitely would have been easier with smaller hands Lol. If your able to get the belt removed and the two bolts out of the front of power steering pump, then you wouldn’t need to go through removing everything on the passenger side minus the washer fluid tank. The pump I was able to remove from the wheel well area; but I do have a 6” lift to assist with the clearance. Also check your power steering reservoir at the seam cause mine has a slight separation where the top and bottom come together. Also if anyone orders from LKQonline.com check the part before the ups guy leaves. This pump was $86 shipped with only 23,000 on it but as you can see by the pics; it’s a rough 23,000

thank you for the info and the tip on the reservoir. I checked the reservoir seam as you mentioned while I was getting gas this morning and think I have a similar problem, so hopefully shouldn’t be too difficult to fix. I have to change oil this weekend, and install some new shackles so will investigate more thoroughly tomorrow.
