So my family and I are going to Boston this weekend to attend my daughter’s club volleyball tournament.

We will be staying at the Omni Parker Hotel on School Street and we need to go to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Summer Street each day.

What is the best way to get there without having to drive and find parking each day? Does the MBTA get us reasonably close?

We will also be doing site seeing while we are there so we want some advice about how best to get around the city.

    Thanks.

I used to live Massachusetts for 3 yrs went to boston alot but haven't been in a long time. But my wife was there last yr and said they had so many subways now you can get just about anywhere within a block of where you want to be. Sorry that's all I got for ya but have fun. Check out the boston aquarium I used to love that place.

The MBTA will definitely get you there. The Silver line is the closest to the Expo, but it might just be easier to walk from South Station. The Omni is pretty centrally located, depending on what you're looking for. There's a ton of history in Boston; my kids like the Museum of Science as well as the Aquarium. I'm an hour north, but happy to help answer questions you might have.

Couple guys on here from that end of the state, hopefully they chime in. The T can usually get you close, Boston isn’t that big of a city, might have to walk a block or 2.
That being said I avoid it as much as possible

In Atlanta now, but lived in Boston for 13 years. Google maps will show you all of the possible MBTA routes to get you there. None of them are super direct, and include some walking on either end, but all are very manageable. FWIW it should only be a <$8 Lyft/Uber ride each way. Depending on how many of you there are, it may be cheaper, and definitely easier to do it that way. Unless you want the experience of riding the T/busses in Boston.

If you want seafood, skip the Barking Crab and try pretty much any other place. Legal Harborside is more expensive, but definitely worth it.

You can easily walk that...my guess is it's a little over a mile. I usually Uber when I'm in Boston. I've never had a bad experience.

    Hint......

Making your way in the world today
    Takes everything you got
Taking a break from all your worries
It sure would help a lot
Wouldn't you like to get away?
    Sometimes you want to go
    Where everybody knows your name
And they're always glad you came
You want to be where you can see
The troubles are all the same
You want to be where everybody knows your name
You want to go where people know
The people are all the same
You want to go where everybody knows your name

You can 100% walk that. If it’s bad weather green line from park st to the convention center is a stop or two. Walking would be your best bet. Be careful in Chinatown. Several shelters over there including st Francis which is where our homeless feed. It is very violent over there. Definitely skip the barking crab for seafood. Definitely go over to the north end which is also a short walk from school St. Mikes pastry and modern pastry are awesome for the kids. I have lived in Boston my whole life and just recently moved a half hour north. Any questions I would be glad to help.

I'm not a LEO but have the utmost respect. My friend's brother, a CO Sheriff, got murdered several years ago during a routine stop. Both perps in for life at Florence, CO max.
