To everyone that read this...He is not kidding! In fact I can't believe there is someone driving a tundy around that area! Not only did I live over there....I have 4 family members that work at that GM plant! One of them is my brother in law and you would not believe the arguments we have had over "american made"! Probably for 10 years! It wasn't until the Cruze came out and he started learning about where the actual design and parts came from did he finally resort to just saying hey...they put food on my table and that is all I have for an argument! And Aaron...I bought my first jeep directly across the street from you from Preston before it closed! I remember going to your dealership for a 4runner years and years ago and thought how cute the little toyota dealership was in that part of Ohio trying to sell Yota's, Jags and Volvo's!! I think the average annual income of that area was $18k a year! I also remember a foreign car being burned to the ground because it was parked in the GM factory lot. But that was a LONG time ago!

I changed out the center caps on my wheels and cleaned them up. The red "TRD" in the original caps faded and they looked like crap. The faux bead locks are at the powder coater. After seeing them in orange on the Total Chaos Tundra, I was inspired. They are being done in TRD red. The place doing them has done powder coating for TRD in the past and had the right color on hand. Amazing how nasty the wheel looks behind the. image.jpg

Got the 3/1.5 lift kit on a few weeks ago, Got the tires on last week 295/70/18 coopers ST MAXX. I didn't have to run the wheel spacers I'm going to install them after I get the bushwackers.

May be hard to tell in this picture but over the weekend I had all of the emblems blacked out & installed.Tundra Black Emblems.jpg
The blacked out emblems weren't ready when I got the truck before Christmas. Next up I may add the TRD shifter nob as well as the TRD Pro front headlights.

Thanks! The dealership where I bought the truck said they could order the lights, I'm just waiting on a price from them. They do a ton of aftermarket upgrades so they're pretty aggressive when it comes to pricing.

Yeah that price is definitely high. My local dealership here (not the one where I bought my truck from) quoted me $325 per light. I'm waiting to hear back from the sales manager from the dealership where I bought mine from to give me their quote. I'll keep you posted. Sorry not sure why it's taking them so long to get back to me.

Dang $650 for headlights that are just blacked out. BHLM = cost of a can of paint + butyl or other sealant.

I think the $450 Sean posted was for a pair. So not terrible IMO for a factory piece rather than aftermarket.

I've read that the '14+ have a much more solid sealant on the lights which makes them nearly impossible to get apart unless you spend several hours working... heating, prying, repeat, repeat and repeat again. Then on to the second light. I dont know, I think maybe I would rather bolt in new ones for $450 and still have the originals to sell for $150 than spend 8 hrs doing the BHLM and possibly FUBARing my lights in the process due to my impatience.

I'll have to call back & confirm if the price was for 1 or for the pair. Luckily I have someone who may want to buy my originals since they're brand new. I'm in the same boat as 'Relentless', I don't have the time nor patience to try & do the BHLM myself; i'm quite positive I'd screw something up along the way. I'd rather pay for something that comes with a warranty for the lights & installation but that's just me. To each is own though. If I get an updated price for the lights I'll be sure to post it.

    Yep

True, but they'll never be sealed like they are factory :)

I've read that too...luckily, Brian is extremely patient and would take an entire day (if needed) to do the BHLM and still have plenty of patience left for his wife and kiddo.

    LOL thanks man.

I will be doing the BHLM on mine at some point. Probably wait till it warms up for painting.
Didn't know the 14+ were harder to get apart. If others had a hard or impossible time then i understand why you would just go straight to the Pro or aftermarket.

Did the BHLM on my Tacoma and about 4 years later i went aftermarket anyway.

Ok so this is actually a good price. I just got off of the phone w/ my sales guy & they quoted me $246 each for the lights.
