Fog lights not working

Just replaced my headlights with some HIDS from carid now my fog lights aren't working any help is appreciated I have a 2003 First gen tundra

 

HIDS or LEDS?

 

What is your harness arrangement? Are you plugged into both factory headlight plugs?

 

I’m betting they are LED’s, not HID’s. LED’s are known to cause funky issues with fog lights.

 

Yeh my bad they are LEDS

 

Confused by question there is only one plug for bulb right? But I replaced both headlight housing and put LED BULBS in both headlights

 

Southpaw should I use HIDS?

 

Don't throw HIDs into the halogen reflector housings unless you don't care about other drivers and the amount of glare your headlights will create. HIDs should only be installed into headlights originally designed for HIDs or behind projectors with proper cut off shields. Just my opinion.

 

Ok good to know first time for me installing new headlights in my tundra just went outside checked out lights in dark for first time the LEDS are plenty bright enough just trying to figure out why fog lights no longer work?

 

LED’s and first gen tundras don’t play well together. Something about them really throws them for a loop. My suggestion would be find another brand of LED or do the ground mod.

 

So there is a LED bulb that you can ground that let's your fog lights work? Also what do you use on your tundra

 

There is a mod you can do to make your fog lights work with those LED’s. I’m sure you can google around and find it but I’ve never used them so I’ve never had to look lol.

You can use plug in resistors that should fix your issue. I had to do this when I had led bulbs.

Yes, when you hit your high beams and do not get the high beam icon on your cluster. You need load resistors. Plug and play are easiest. Like @KarmaKannon said.

I had the same issue originally. I bought OEM foglight button, Denso relay, and foglight housings. Couldn't get them to work for the life of me. I installed load resistors and took care of my issue.

 

I have my hid harness plugged into just one headlight socket right now because it only needs one input. My high beam indicator doesn't work, but my fog lights do work. Something about that load imbalance on just the one side is messing up the high beam indicator. Oh well it works fine enough until i wire my fog lights into the high beam on that empty side.

Damnit that cutoff makes me want to... but I still can’t bring myself to open my new oe headlights..



plus I can’t find black corner lights and pulling those apart usually doesn’t end well

 

These are the headlights and corners I used for my retrofit. My HID harness is plugged in to the drivers side headlight factory plug and I also had to install a load resistor on the passenger side. High beams worked but no indicator on the dash.
