I would stay away from Chemical Guys personally.

Autogeek has a 20% off sale right now. I use these towels for drying. Will dry the whole truck with 1 towel. I use CarPro Reset for shampoo

Chemical Guys generally takes a bad rap, but their soaps are actually pretty good and now available at WalMart. I believe that HoneyDew Snow Foam can be had there. As far as drying goes, you will find the Griots PFM drying towels tough to beat. Check you local Pep Boys to see if they're on sale. Autozone carries Jay Lenos Vehicle Wash, which is also a very good soap with excellent cleaning power and great lubricity...you just have to like the smell of cherry cough syrup.

Dawn Dishwashing liquid. Wool mit. In the shade. Air dry. Clean my windows of spots. Light spray on shiner on body to rid it of any spots. Black shows the most White, probably needs nothing.

Since we were talking wash, I was saying how I wash it, and having a black truck a quick spray on shine helps because of the little bit of spots that appear. I get most of it dried with a leather chamy. Sometimes I just buff the spots out with a soft cotton rag. At least twice a year I'll wax it.

Yeah not trying to be a dick, but no point in waxing if your everyday wash is dish soap. That just takes off the wax.

Also, check out Autogeek's sister site, https://www.autopia-carcare.com/. Their current deal is 25% off and free shipping over $50. I don't know why they have 2 sites, but it's the same folks and each site has different deals.

Never placed an order with them. Always check other sites first. Will add them to my sites. Autogeek had that exact promotion yesterday. I ordered what I hope to be my last detail purchase for a while.

Go to the detailing section of this forum, and buy the product(s) @War Machine or @Pudge recommend. They are the detailing gods, and our valued product beta testers. Don't get on @Pudge 's bad side though...he's been known to shame detailing companies into oblivion!!

Screw you guys, I'm happy with my results, and been washing this way longer than you probably been alive. A few drops of soap is not going to strip of any wax. It shines good enough for a 13 year old truck. It's not brand new, it's not a $300,000 bentley, so who cares, why do you care. Go spend your money, I gave a cheap way, and it works.

We care because you're giving someone bad advice. Just because it looks shiny doesn't mean that it's done right. Cars look shiny after drive thru car washes, and we all know how bad those are for a car's paint. You wax twice a year? So you have your paint protected for maybe 2 months per year. You don't need to worry about the Dawn soap stripping any way, in your case there is rarely if ever any wax on the paint anyway. Cotton towels will lead to scratches, as will leather chamois. Air drying is fine if you have soft water or a really good water filtration system, but for most of us we will get water spots. Water spots just don't look bad, they leave minerals on the paint that can etch the clear coat and lead to it peeling. So you do you but don't give shitty advice to someone looking for some help on how to do things right.
