    hey guys,
About to pull trigger on 2020 Plat Tundra. Coming out of a vehicle with shi%^y headlights. I drive VERY dark mountains and curving unlit highways several nights a week. How would you rate your recent model--'18, '19, '20 headlights? Thanks!

The headlights on street vehicles are only designed to do so much, I would add auxiliary driving, flood & fog lights that you control with separate switches / toggles.

Thanks. I had an Audi q5 that had blazing headlights. Drove these same roads, no problem. Appreciate your reply, but I feel stock headlights should do the job. Not that I would ever drive a Prius, but their headlights are rated excellent from the Insurance Institute (sorry can't remember the name of that govt agency) that rates all aspects of vehicles, crash tests, etc. Tundra headlights are rated poor, BUT I wanted to know real world opinion. (NOT TROLLING.) I am 'this close' to buying a Tundra. Thanks.

I believe the Factory LED Headlights are much better than the stock halogens.

I agree that the stock headlights on these trucks could be so much better, but I also think that you will get much better results if you leave the factory headlights alone and add high quality aftermarket lighting.

The headlights on my 2020 tundra are great! The high beams are unbelievable! This is my first truck with LEDs. Maybe I'm just not used to them. But I can tell you that with the high beams on, I can see everything and very far away! Street signs actually glow. Maybe take a test drive at night and see if you like them.

The tundra stock LED headlights are definitely an upgrade over the halogens. However, I feel that they are not as good compared to HID/retrofits(I did projector and HID retrofits on a 3rd and 5th gen 4runner), acura LED headlights( drove a friends MDX and those are some sweet headlights) and possibly some of the european makes.

its seems to me that the higher end Honda and Toyota models are equipped with mediocre headlights vs the lower end models that have better headlights. Acura and Lexus being the elite versions of Honda and Toyota are usually also equipped with better lights.

I installed the rough country LED bar and it made a huge difference over the stock LED lights. If you're looking for better light in those situations, adding a light bar and pods will probably get you what you're looking for but they won't be SAE compliant.
