What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

The latch ubolt that came with the latch is super short, to span what I need it to. I wanted a longer one but ordered the wrong size, I could either drill out the barrel that the ubolt secures into, but I don’t know if I trust the strength left with the remaining metal. I emailed the company about a longer m8 ubolt. Or maybe get threaded rod couplings and just extend the threads that way?

If destaco and carrlane don't have what you need to adapt it I'd be looking at drilling that cross shaft out to fit the bigger u bolt. Another option might be finding a standard thread u bolt from someone like McMaster. Turning the diameter of that thread down and getting threads back on it would not be fun.
Possibly someone can make you a u bolt too. Spring places sometimes do custom sizes. There are also some places online I've used before for special prototype u bolts on stuff for trailers at work.

Ordered side steps today. Also, as a bonus, I turned in my young man card and exchanged it for an old fart, get off my lawn membership. 10 years ago I’d have cringed at getting steps, killing the look, but I finally grew tired of jumping in and creasing my seat. Dad bod isn’t as nimble as she used to be.

These seem to have really good reviews from the Tacoma and Cummins forums so I figured I’d give them a shot, should be here by the end of the week. Plus, at only $150, I’ll still be able to afford prune juice and denture cream in retirement...

I received my @toyotech2016 roof rack and had it painted yesterday. Assembled today! Potential install this weekend but first...have to drop off to get the OME suspension installed.
Really excited to get these two additions completed. Still a ways to go but coming together!

 

I’m guessing you will have to drill holes to mount it? Do you have to pull the headliner?

 

Yes, I have to drill holes to install. For pulling the headliner, I'm not sure yet but it's installed with nutserts so i dont think so.

 

What brand? I’ve been on the fence for a long time, think they look ugly but would really be nice for my wife, me, and the kids to get in the truck.

scan gauge mount. Looks like it’s a pretty good fit!

 

I’ve installed a couple sets of those for trucks at work. They’re a bit cheap, but nice enough. They were a body mount on the alumabody f150s I installed them in though.

Did you find out the proper code sequence to program our tranny pan temp to display? I pulled my scanguage from our 4runner, which had it displayed properly, and put it in the tundra. It displayed for a minute and then I couldn’t find it again scrolling thru the different guages.

 

Not yet. Haven’t messed with XGauges yet. I will eventually.

 

I haven’t had the truck in an AZ summer, but the trucks intake temp compared to the outside temp, is way lower than in the 4Runner. I would get 30-40 differences(hot intake temps) I know they both pull from the same area but it was interesting what I’ve seen so far

 

That gave me a good laugh. I’d be willing to bet the product template they used had an extra space that needed to be filled and they ran out of features, looked at their iPhone and viola!

They’re iBoards, if you search on eBay or Amazon they’ll pop up. Ill post up my thoughts in a thread when I get them. There’s also eBoards and those have HUGE brackets that look terrible IMO. Seems like iBoard slimmed the bracket down and got the design tightened up. They have 4”, 5”, and 6” wide. I went with 5” as it covers the bracket and seems to fit more flush against the body as the extra inch is added toward the body versus away from the truck. The 4” leaves a gap and you can see the brackets, also seemed TOO thin in the pictures I saw.

Awesome that’s my next investment for the pickup I’ve wanted a scan gauge for a while.

What mount did you use for your gauge I can’t find a tundra mount on spikers website.

 

He sent me this one to test out. Once we figure out the diameter of spacer he needs to ship with I imagine he’ll have it on the site soon after.
