If I'm allowed to say this....call me pussy whipped at my old age but my lovely wife somehow knows moments before I slide my card at Lowe's, Napa, Advance Auto...etc
No use in me trying to hide

I bring home the bacon and the wife cooks it (she pays all the bills). She knows how good she has it (she hasn't worked since our daughter was born almost 15 years ago), and I know how good I have it, so it works for us. On top of that, I'm pretty cheap, so she knows when I buy something, I REALLY want it (if it's for me, I agonize over every purchase of $50+ for months before I buy something, if I ever buy it lol) and she never mentions it. It works well for us.

Can semi relate @speedtre but my days of bringing home the sausage after doing my 40 ended 8 yrs ago at retirement, now my younger wife brings home the bacon. She also attempted to talk me into a newer Tundra back in summer now that everything is paid for but declined and kept my 2004. We dig out of the same pot, so all kidding aside, We are blessed to have found each other....what ever works !

i was thinking 100 a pop for rears. maybe more for the fronts. im keeping 1 8", 1 8.4" and one front 7.5"

Damn, that's a pretty car. Gonna have to raid the spare change jar and see if I have roughly a million bucks for an impulse buy.

Hauled some free furniture pieces to the house today. Its nice having a truck for these tasks.

I once saw a bumper sticker on a Chevy. It said, ‘No, you can’t borrow my truck’. :ohsnap:

So a few things; until PHM posted about his starting times and someone commenting about how on younger 1sties you just tap the key into the start position and release, that it will start all on its own. I never knew this was a thing, tried it on a cheby passenger van, and then tried it on mine just now, mind blown!
Second it’s been a long day that just turned longer(due to part 3), do the 05-06 have the maint req light that comes on every 5k for oil changes? I know the light is there, but does it trip every 5k for oil changes?
Third; where’s the best place to get a replacement key, I kinda want/like the low pro black plastic topped key(that I just broke the retaining ring on, that then resulted in a dog biting my thumb) but maybe once I see stealership prices, I’ll just get an all metal one cut?
    Thanks and enjoy your evening

i think the double cabs have immobilizers. the keys are like 60ish bucks and need to be programed.

Aren’t immobilized keys marked G? I don’t know if I’ve seen that marked on they key anywhere like the 4R is.

Mine will start with a generic key I got cut at the hardware store. I got an all metal thin one and I keep it in my wallet as a backup or for locking my other keys in the truck when I'm warming it up.

Some are just dots. But yours may not have an immmobilizer. The double cabs were funky.

Does yours have an immobilizer? Is that a weird time frame when toyota was going thru different changes in different stages? That’s why I was asking about the maintenance required light, my 05, base taco had it, so does the ‘10 4runner, but the PO made it seem like there wasn’t a MR light that came on; he also didn’t have the truck for long so who knows
