Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce Tundas.com to my company Southern Style OffRoad. We've been in business since 2012 and are located down here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I've been a life long Toyota fan and what started out as a simple hobby under my car port has turned into my full time job with 7 other poor souls on this journey with me.

We first broke ground on creating products for the Lexus GX470 because, well, my wife wanted a nice suv and I wanted a legitimate off road machine. Little did I know at the time that despite it sharing the same frame and suspension as the 4runner/FJ family, there were absolutely no other aftermarket goodies as far as bumpers, sliders, roof racks, etc. Naturally, as a computer programmer nerd at the time, I decided I'd teach myself how to weld and make my own. Fast forward to today and our GX has undergone quite the transformation to our flagship offroad she-beast. It features Total Chaos/Radflo long travel up front, custom Radflo long travel in the rear, and our most recent bumper and rock slider designs. We also had to get custom fenders molded in to keep her looking prim and proper, because it is, after all, my wife's daily driver.

Here's the GX as it sits today:

    13735631_1235482659795100_8848542017457554331_o.jpg

Moving on, it became apparent to me that if I was serious about making this my full time gig, I'd have to jump in with both feet. So, I hopped on the first Trail edition 4Runner I could get my hands on and began the process all over again. The 2014+ 4Runner simply begged for me to create a simple yet elegant winch platform that could accommodate nearly every winch on the market and also give you the amenities you'd expect from full size bumpers, like protective stingers, flush mounted light bars, and heavy duty 3/4" tow hooks to get you unstuck whatever the situation. With this design criteria in mind, the Slimline Hybrid was born and has been evolving to include the 2012-15 and 2016+ Tacoma.

    DSC04497_zpsyqiscadu.jpg

These were first introduced in late 2014 and have been wildly successful for us. With over 1000 sold in 2 years, these bumpers have been all over the world from Saudi Arabia to the jungles of Venezuela and come back to tell the tale. They're constructed of all 3/8" and 3/16" structural steel for the frame mounting and winch plate, while we keep it light with an 1/8" face plate to reduce the weight down to about 55-65 lbs depending on the model and options.

We finally got the chance to apply this same premise to the 3rd gen Tundra. We followed the same successful recipe as we did on the 4Runner and Tacoma slimline using heavier gauge steel for the bits you'd expect to be heavy but keeping the weight down using lighter gauge material where it wasnt as necessary. Because of the special challenges of the Tundra we're offering two distinct models this time around. My favorite model of the slimline hybrid is something I like to call OEM+, where if you werent very knowledgable on the Tundra you might think this was the TRD version direct from the factory. This model is paired exclusively with the Warn Zeon Platinum series with wireless clutch and line control. This allows us to keep the design sleek while still useable for serious winching duty. We also have universal winch model with hand cut outs for clutch and solenoid access. We are truly pleased to introduce our latest labor of love to Tundras.com:

We teamed up with Baja Designs to offer their 30" S8 led bar and matched their unique scalloped housing design perfectly into our bumper.

Finally a quick peek at our universal model for easy access to winches without wireless capability.

With all that said, it's a pleasure to start this product line and we look forward to becoming a part of the Tundra community. Please dont hestitate to ask any questions here directly on the forums or by calling our shop from 8-4 CST M-F at (225) 726-7979.

You can also browse our website at http://www.southernstyleoffroad.com or hit us up on facebook or instagram (SS_OffRoad). The Tundra bumper with its available options is listed here and has introductory pricing until Feb 28 with a March ship date: http://www.southernstyleoffroad.com/product/2016-tundra-slimline-hybrid/

Thanks ya'll! Look forward to hearing how you like it.

THanks for the compliments. We always try to start with the newest models and work our way backwards, but we definitely could make one for the 2nd gen. It'll be a bit before we could schedule that though as I dont like trying to spread ourselves too thin to keep customers happy with shorter lead times.

Best looking bumper IMHO. Have you considered also fabricating bumper endcaps that match the OEM look like on the (dare I say) Raptors?

Yeah, most shops seem to be moving on with designing anything for 2nd gens. But our trucks are still out here, so don't forget about us!

I have a good friend still rocking the 2nd gen. Maybe I can convince him to swap trucks with me for a bit.

We've thought about it, but then we're back into a full bumper which is a different direction than this particular style is intended.

Sooooo clean. I wish I had a need for a winch so I could justify this. The 16+ taco bumper is amazing. The lines and flow look amazing.

Who doesnt need a winch? It's one of those things that you should rarely need, but when you do need it, its worth its weight in gold especially if you're alone.

Kinda like 4 wheel drive. Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it.

Havent hit a deer, but I have been the test dummy to be in both of our shop trucks during a wreck. The 4runner was all my fault and i ran into the back of someone pulling out of a gas station at about 15mph. The GX was a much bigger hit when the crazy lady in the red explorer hit us doing about 45 head on. We make em tough as nails for a reason.

I really like your winch bumper! I was born in Baton Rouge. Off road in Louisiana means mud, right? I don't remember ever seeing a rock, and If i remember right, the highest spot is about 550' above sea level. Welcome to the forum!

Yeah, we dont play in Louisiana very much. We travel to Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee and Colorado for our good times. Glad to see another native Cajun on the boards!
