I have recently started using Amsoil SS 0w20 again for a 10,000 mile OCI.

I recently started using extra virgin olive oil. It's definitely cheaper than the 0w-20 toyota recommends and even if I have to change it every 5k miles I'll still be in the green. It's also super convenient because I can pick it up when I'm out grocery shopping

We don’t think we need guys coming in here with the same dead horse jokes. I use redline oil. There 0W-20 is the heaviest 20weight that I know of.

I've never heard anything to convince me to switch to synthetic other than you can go longer between oil changes. I've always used normal oil and OEM filters on every vehicle I owned. I've never sold a vehicle before I've worn out an engine.

Sure we do because if anyone would bother to take 1 minute and search instead of making the 1000th copy of the same thread, they would find the answers they are looking for.

    :dead horse:

Best oil and filter has been proven, not guessed at. 1,000,000 miles on exclusively dealer changes at 10K miles with Toyota oil and OEM filters. The engineers tore down the motor and inspected it to find no significant wear in 1,000,000 miles. You guys using other stuff are living on borrowed time. You’ll blow your motors up at 998,000 miles or something. But to each their own.
You want to play with fire and risk that kind of early failure, have at it, it’s your truck.

I suggest sticky said oil threads to front page where they are easily visible.

Firestone Airbags; remote starter; replaced stock mirrors with larger, pull-out mirrors for towing; hard plastic sectional cover for bed.
I'm planning on keeping the Tundra until the wheels fall off so it's OEM filters and synthetic, every 5,000 miles. If you research synthetic types, there's not that much of a difference and I'm trying out the Amazon Basics which is only $22 for a 5 qts....it's right about the same as Mobile 1. (I change the oil myself....gotta love that skid plate!!!)
