I see them used on most 4runner lifts.

Looks great man! How is the difference in ride from the TRD shocks?

In addition to rebalancing...did they road force and match them up appropriately. I had a set of (4) GY Wranglers, with 2 of them way out of RF spec and had to be replaced. 1 was road forced to something like 28 and I decided to live with it, although I could still feel the vibration.

Well after almost two years of starting this thread and another truck later I got my 6112 at 1.9 with 5160 rears and 275/70r18 Nitto Trail Grapplers. Crappy picture as I spent 6 hours at the dealership (two hours away) for install and another two hours at Discount Tire. Dealer installation with alignment was a tad over $700. Picture looks high in the front but it should settle, I failed to take before and after measurements. 20200217_205424.jpg 20200217_205434.jpg

Getting a little mud on the tires today although the rain is washing it all off.

What do you think of the ride? Truck looks amazing but I might be a little biased!

Ride is great especially on these washed out rocky Ozark dirt roads. Kind of wish I would have drove it on factory tires to see the difference before I put the heavy LT tires on but probably best I didn't.

Looks great! 13.5 wide on a +18mm ... Did that hit the UCA? Any mods required? Was thinking of going wide as well but all the 13+ wide stuff I could find folks seem to run all negative offsets.

Plenty of room to the uca, i have aftermarket ones not sure how much of a difference that makes, just had to do an aggressive cmc and pinch weld flattening and trim and recess fender liners

2" leveling kit installed up front
Everything has arrived!!! I'll be installing everything in a couple of weeks. This is what's gonna be installed.

    ~6112's at 2.5"
~CB shim on each side (I've never had a lean in the front)
    ~JBA upper control arms
~Toytec rear shocks (1-3" of lift)
~ProRyde rear blocks (kit can do 1", 1.5", 2" depending on how much rake I want)

As a side note, my front end has always been level with no lean. It's the back end that has a lean when my tank is full. I might mess around with adding a thicker block in the rear to fix it. We'll see what happens. Can't wait to get my hands dirty and get all this stuff installed. IMG_20200218_184809.jpg

Regarding the front lean - Reading through the different posts here and elsewhere, it seems like our trucks come stock with different springs on the left and right - probably to compensate for the lean (or actually to compensate for the heavier weight on the left causing the lean). You will see that the OEM springs are market "L" and "R". So, going to 5100 that use the OEM springs, there should still not be lean, but going to any other aftermarket spring, like with the 6112, you might end up with lean even though you did not have it to begin with. I do not have personal experience with this though - just an observation from reading through here. I have also read that some have lean with their OEM setup. My OEM setup did not have lean. Every truck seems to be different. Maybe someone else with actual experience can confirm.

Good point about the stock springs. I plan on putting one CB shim on each side when I do the install and then see how it sits after that. If it immediately has a lean because of the 6112's, then I'll try removing the CB spacer on the passenger side like many others have done. This is going to be a science experiment

It makes it difficult that every truck seems to be different. I have a 3/1.5 leveling and I am dead level. Some have 3/1 and is still slightly lower in the front. Some have 2.5/1 and are nose-high. Some have lean, some don't. It's weird....

With the weather getting better and finding some free time, I'm about ready to get done in the next couple weeks!

    - 6112's at 2.5" for the front
    - 5160's for rear (alternative Bilstein clamps)
    - 3 CB Shims, two on driver's side and one on passenger side
    - CB +3 Shackles
    - CB Bumper Shim Kit
    - JBA UCA's
    - Fuel Vapor Wheels 20x9 +1 (Gorilla lug nuts M14x1.5 ET3)
    - Nitto RG's 295/60/20
    - Painted Mirror Caps and Handles

I have a couple questions...Do I need to remove/change the rear blocks since I am doing +3 shackles or do I leave them alone? Not seeing a lot of information on these lug nuts (provided to me with the wheels), so I am wondering if they are the correct lug nuts needed, anyone know? Do I need to use Loctite (Red/Blue) for anything in particular?

Read through many threads and just want to make sure there isn't anything else I am missing before getting started, I'm sure there is though. Any pro tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Looks like a great plan and a fun project there.

As for the rear blocks if you leave them on you'll get more ride height; personally I would remove the blocks and keep the shackles (you should get better ride quality). One thing to remember if you do remove the blocks you may have to replace the length of the U bolts depending on how high the blocks are. You don't want to leave excess thread hanging from the rear axle since it will use up precious ride height clearance.

The wheel lugs should be fine if they came with your wheels. The thing to watch out for is the lug nut seat (Conical vs. flat) which should match how the wheel bolt holes are machined. Hope that helps and good luck with the install.

What setting are the 6112 at?
Did you have to do the CMC?

thanks! I’m on 34s and curious.

Thanks for you help, I appreciate that!

I don't think I will need more ride height, would rather have better ride quality if possible. What are the pro's and con's of using one or the other, or both? I will probably just get new U bolts and do it right, where is the best place to pick these up, the dealership? As many threads and videos that I have watched, I find it interesting that none of them address this issue with the blocks.

I am at the top setting. I did have to do the CMC. It isn't anything major at all. Where I DO still rub slightly, is the front fender well - even with the front bumper spacer, at semi-aggressive lock, I will hit the plastic sometimes. Taking a heat gun to it is the easy solution, but I am getting a front bumper soon, so I am just living with it.

    See build thread below.
So here’s my dilemma. Currently have Bilsteins 6112 up front at 1.9” and 5100s in rear (no lift). I have SCS ray 10s sitting in my garage, but now i have the itch to go a little higher. Thinking of putting 6112 at 2.5” and a 1” shackle on rear.

Will i be able to fit 295/70/18 (25 offset) without any chopping if i do that?
Will it look pretty close to level?
Should I be concerned about keeping stock UCAs at 2.5” and worry about longevity of wear on CVs?

Any input/experience/pics of someone with current setup of this would be greatly appreciated. Also thinking of just going 285/70/18 on my current setup and calling it a day.

    Thanks all.

I have 6112 top setting with 285/70/18 Ridge grapplers and method rims that are +25. I had to remove the front mudflaps to eliminate rubbing. I don’t see how 295/70/18 would fit without a bmc or more mods/lift. Not saying it can’t, just my experience.

Thats’s a wide tire so you’ll probably need to trim the fender well.

Here’s the front of the front fender well liner mods people made.
