It’s a mixture between the two.If you have it on the dot between face and feet and face it’s going to do both but favor the face a little more.

Awesome! Just tried it out a little bit ago and you are correct. I always thought it has something to do with the flow to the rear vents!

Also does anyone know a way to keep the recirculate on and not shut off every three minutes?

Unless they can do that through programming, none that I’m aware of. I think it will stay on recirculate depending on the temperature outside the vehicle. But I can’t remember if it was below or above a certain point that kept it on.

Hold the recirculate button down for over 10 seconds (I count out about 15 seconds to be sure) and it'll stay on until you change to defrost. Remote start also opens it.

If that can't be made to happen, it can also be changed via Techstream.

Interesting. I’ll have to give it a try. All I know is it is very aggravating to keep having to hit the darn button.

I had this same problem on my FJ; Recirculate would only stay on if I had it set to MAX AC; otherwise it would turn off after a few minutes.

Is that a auto climate control only feature or does it work with the manual controls as well?

I don't know about the auto climate control, but it works on my 2nd gen with manual controls.

With climate control everything is automatic unless you turn off the "auto" button. Then you can set it any way you want. But recirc is on each time you start the truck if not it auto mode. Not sure if it stays on, because I always turn it off after starting the truck in order to have fresh air.

My 08 drove me nuts with that but it was the opposite way, it would switch from fresh air to recirculate all by itself. I evacuated and recharged the AC system thinking the evaporator was freezing up due to low freon (wrong). I swapped in a new blower motor thinking it was not moving enough air across the evaporator causing a freeze up (wrong). I call my buddy who's a Master Toyota tech and he lol'd "They all do it, no there is nothing wrong, R.T.F.M. and stop calling me for your neurotic shit." He's a great friend.
