H-keys should be cracked now by the major bypass modules. unless you have a remote that doesn't use a brand name often used model.

I would also be interested in that key. Apparently it is not yet compatible with the Tundra.

I bought a key shell like that off ebay, and an H chip as well, and can't get the chip to program with TechStream on my 2018 Tundra. I have a genuine Toyota H key coming today that I will try to program, and it if it works, I'll tear it open and steal the chip from it.

I did tear apart one of my factory keys to get the H chip out and make 1 working flip key.

Here is my "frankenkey". It works great! It's a shell with a blank flip key that I got off ebay for $10, with the innards of our factory key remote transplanted into it, and an H chip ($10 off ebay) added and programmed to my immobilizer using TechStream. Had the key blank cut at Home Depot for $2. Now I don't have a key trying to poke a hole in my pants pocket. :)

How many keys can you program on an 18/19 tundra? 4 like the previous tundra's? And do you have to buy the actual Toyota H keys / fobs to get them to work?

I have techstream, just want to know how many I can do ahead of ordering more and also need to know which ones to get (Toyota OEM or other).

    4. You have to have H chips in the key, doesn't have to come from Toyota.

So you can’t use the chip out of the Orig OEM key? Or you were making a complete new extra key??

No I do not. I dont mind paying to get it done. I think for the hassle the price is easier than the hours I spend wasted trying to make it work. Sometimes I feel like a monkey typing on a laptop. Just wanted to know if it worked well and any errors or issues once switched over to this.

Sorry if I offend any monkeys on here. LOL

OK, update for anyone that want to mod their keys. I purchased, a flip H key, checked on their website and went to a locksmith. No such luck, he could not program the key. The locksmith just charged me $15 for cutting the key but no charge as he couldnt program it. Toyota dealer does a disclaimer $130 for aftermarket keys if they cant program it. I may have to try the techware as mention by @jtwags.

Shux, was hoping that one would work as it is a bit smaller than the other one. I purchased the larger 3 button flip shell and a blank toyota spare key to cut out the h chip to use in the shell. Home Depot cut it in their machine for no cost and I used techstream to program the extra h chip. I actually find the flip key a bit bulky compared to original and the raised button always flips the key out in my pocket making it even more cumbersome than the original.

If you can get the remote buttons to program you could always cut out the chip and add a different h-chip.

I'm still weighing my options. There has to be something that will work. I'm looking up YouTube but dont see anything yet. I'll post something if I come across something. Like I said, not the cost but just hate having to buy all this equipment just to do it for one/two keys. I'm seeing it done on Hilux and Landcruisers outside of US but not sure how they are doing it if doing it for Tundras.

This is interesting, the seller is asking me to revise my review of his product in return for a full refund? Hmm..wondering if he mis-advertised.

Yeah I know. But still digging into forums and found this thread. A post by omgboost fob looks cool and he seemed to have success. Im gonna reach out and see what the FCC code was.

Sorry to necro a thread but I figure it's better to keep the H key info in one place.

It's been a few years since the last post in this thread and @sunnysideTRD is MIA for over a year but here are my latest findings.

I have a VCX Nano, Techstream 18, and two of these keys purchased from eBay:

    eBay link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235064330608
    KeyECU link: https://www.keyecu.com/upgraded-rem...highlander-2013-2017-fcc-gq4-52t-h-p2441.html

The keys have the right FCC ID (GQ4-52T) and on eBay they claim compatibility with the 2019 Tundra 1794 Edition.
I got the new keys added to the immobilizer and the light turns off when the blanks are in the ignition (they aren't cut yet).
I haven't been successful getting the fob portion coded in Techstream. I ran Wireless Code Diagnostics and my factory key beeps, indicating it's registered. These fobs don't register anything while pressing buttons which leads me to believe they're the wrong frequency. I'm going to contact the seller but I imagine I'll have to look at another key.

I used these keys and TechStream to program, worked flawlessly once I figured out there is two different programs to run, one for the buttons and one for the immobilizer.

eBay vendor is offering a full refund, but really I'd prefer a key that works. They don't seem to know why these don't work so I'm going to take the refund and try something else. Has anyone found a flip key where the buttons program successfully?

I bought a remanufactured OEM key off eBay for $40 - OEM transmitter, immobilizer, and back case, aftermarket front case. I programmed the immobilizer and transmitter, no issues. I now have a second key so I've shelved the flip key search for the moment. I'll look into it again down the road.
