I have the read TRD sway bar and noticed a big difference once installed. This should have been included from factory.

After reading some of this thread, sounds like I might need to upgrade the front to TRD sway bar as well

Hey Fellas. I wanted to thank everyone that advised me to install the Rear Sway Bar. I just installed it yesterday. Wow.. Id handles so much better. It took off about 35% of the leaning on turns.
So here is my question. I looked on the front and noticed that the truck already comes with the factory black sway bar. Why change that to the TRD? Is it better than the black OEM bar? What makes the TRD front Sway bar better than the OEM ? I'm ready to buy the front but will wait for your comments and suggestions if I should.

So from what I see on couple of posts, is the OEM front bar hollow ? Not solid?

From what others have said in the thread, looks like stock sway bar is hollow and almost half the weight. A stiffer, sturdier sway bar would perform better.

Pulled the trigger on TRD front sway bar and threw in the center console wireless charger kit as well (couldn't help myself) :yay:

Ok. Check this out fellas. I ordered last week the rear TRD sway bar from my local dealership. It came in in a perfectly sealed box in a perfect condition. I installed it and I was extremely happy with it. I decided to also change my front OEM Hollow sway bar to the TRD sway bar. I went to the same local Toyota dealership and ordered the TRD front sway bar. They called me to pick it up the next day. He handed me the front sway bar and I was shocked. It looks like it came from a junkyard. It was beat up and dinged up everywhere. I asked the dealership where is the box, he said that they don't come in boxes. The parts guy was trying to convince me that it's not a big deal. Well... It is a big deal to me. When I'm paying for something new, I'm expecting something new and in perfect condition. He called his manager. The parts manager agreed with me and he said that he will order me a new one. couple of hours after I left the dealership, I received the call from the parts manager telling me that he contacted the warehouse and they told him that unfortunately this is the way they come from Toyota. No boxes and no packing. I asked him to order another one and hopefully the new one might come in a good condition. He called me the next day when he received the second one, he told me that it's also scratched and some areas are dinged up and missing the red powder coating. I just don't understand Toyota. They must not care. I know I have seen a post on the forum that someone ordered the front sway bar from Sparks and received it beat up like that. I honestly don't think it's the dealership. It's Toyota. That is a horrible customer service on the Toyota part not the dealership

That sucks, but sounds like what others have experienced as well.

If mine is bad, I might take it to a local powder coater to fix.

Sure you can do that. But that's just not right. You buy something new and you have to go pee and fix it? I will never do that. Maybe ask for half price if it's dinged up

Sorry to hear about the negative experience with Toyota. You would be better off buying a used one from a member. If you lived on the east cost I would sell you mine as I think it is too stiff. Mine came with both the front and rear. I've already sold the rear and recently removed the front. I like my truck to ride like a boat hahaha.

There is a thread somewhere on here where @Roman discusses this and shows that they in fact don't come in boxes. I believe either him or Sparks puts them in boxes before they ship. That is why I went with one of them. It was in good condition when I got it

I put the trd rear sway bar on almost immediately after buying the truck, I had about 1,500 miles of highway driving on it. I've put another thousand miles on it since adding the sway bar. The highway handing is definitely has improved on corners and sudden maneuvers.

Put the rear SB on and was very happy with it. About a year later also installed the front TRD bar. Even better. Great on turns, and hilly curvy roads. Rear bar came in a box, front came FedEx with the address label wrapped around it (no box). A little dinged up, but hell, most of it is out of sight above the belly pan, and I bought it for performance anyway, not looks.

I installed both over two days. The rear first than the front replacement. Significant improvement each day. I no longer feel like a Tug Boat Captain!
    Very happy with the changes.

Just got my front sway bar in today. Spark parts wrapped and put in a box; minimal scuff marks on the bar.

This bar is a beast! Can’t wait to get this installed

Installed today and love the tighter feeling of the front suspension. Glad I got this done!
