If you install the Roadmaster Active Suspension, does that require or is it recommended to remove the rear sway bar?

Have you towed anything with it?

Unless you have a TRD PRO, I don't think any other truck configuration comes with sway bar. But if you have one it will probably need to be removed. Towing was purpose for the installation but I haven't personally towed anything yet. It does eliminate the body roll, lift the back of the truck about 1", and increase by 50% your payload (sag is reduced). In the attached pictured I've 2400 in the bad of the truck. I hauled locally but you'll probably need a 10 ply tires if want to haul on a longer trip or highway.

That's pretty dang impressive. I just watched a YouTube video on the installation of the RoadMaster Active Suspension. Might even be a better solution over Air Bags. Oh and BTW, the TRD PRO Tundra's DO NOT come with a rear sway bar. That would pretty much destroy the TRD tuned Fox Shocks articulation. If you buy a PRO for the suspension, then DON'T install the TRD sway bar on the rear.

I have a 2020 Pro and when I hook it up to my boat I have a very noticeable sag in the rear!! I was looking at the roadmaster active but was told it may still sag when pulling my boat versus the air bags??? Also had someone recommend sumo springs??? My boat only weights about 3500lbs any ideas on what I should get??

Just because the truck sags less doe not mean that the payload is increased. The payload capacity is what it is from the factory minus whatever you do for add ins. You are way overloaded, illegal, and dangerous with loads like that.

Whenever I see a pro, even with an empty bed it looks like its sagging, the front lift and no rear lift is not for me. I don't know about the roadmaster stuff but airbags will work. I would consider and add a leaf or change leaf packs so you have some rake like a truck should have.

Looks like the bags are the way to go and only guarantee for no sag when towing!!! I was unaware Pro’s had lighter suspension in the rear? I guess it has something to do with the fox shocks for the better ride

I don't think that the leaf springs are lighter, it's the front lift that give it that saggy look.
I had air bags on my Tacoma because the damn thing would bottom out with 2 passengers in the rear seat. The bags slowly lost air and I'd have to fill then now and then. I just used a bike pump, it only takes a few pumps to add 5 psi. Anyway they did make the rear ride a little stiff because you have to keep some air in them. I also added Daystar cradles so they wouldn't rip at full droop. They would be good to level it out when towing with just a few pumps of the bike pump.

Yes, all the PRO's "appear" to be low in the rear, when in fact they are not. There are just high in the front due to the TRD coil springs. After much debate I now believe I will be going with Air Bags by Firestone. I like the simplicity of the Roadmasters, and the Sumo's are good too, but the air bags are the only solution that is truly and easily adjustable "on the fly", providing you have onboard compressor. But still, I am in no hurry to do anything as my boat does not kill the rear of my truck. It only pushes it down by an inch, no biggie.

Which model of Roadmaster did you install, the Standard or Heavy Duty. If you went with the HD how is the ride unloaded?

Beat me to it . More than suspension contributes to payload. Frame, tires, hubs, axles, etc...

I got airbgs and got me one of these https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...r-compressor/hv40a2/4683301?q=SuperFlow&pos=2
couldnt see the point of spending 500 bucks on on board air for a few PSI into my airbags. I love it. Fills my truck tires fast when I need to air down and I use it to fill my trailer tires as well when they are low. comes with a nice little bag as well and fits perfect under the seat with my jack and tools.

How does the rear sway bar destroy the TRD tuned Fox Shocks articulation?

The articulation thing isn’t just pro suspension. A sway bar effectively ties the two rear wheels together. That’s how it reduces sway. In a left hand sweeping turn for example the lady wheel wants to come off the ground but a sway bar uses leverage from the right wheel to push it back down and vice versa. Say you go over a hump on the right side only. The right wheel wants to push up into the wheel well but it can get go so far up with the left wheel not moving since they are tied together so it will actually force the left tire to come off the ground. Here’s a good video showing the concept

The Roadmaster kit works as advertised... I had them on my 2002 Tundra back when I was hauling bottled water. The only thing that I did not like about them is that they caused the bed to sit noticeably higher than stock when it was unloaded. The modern version looks even better than the old version.

Roadmasters don't provide as much lift as the airbags. They almost act like shock absorbers. They keep the truck from going up and down when you're loaded heavy. They dampen more than they lift. The airbags, on the other hand, just lifts. They won't dampen. I have both. I've used them together on my 2007 RCSB. I now have 2010 Crewmax 4x4 and I have the Roadmasters installed. Last year, I installed the airbags without the Roadmasters and with the King shocks I have in the back, the ride was unsafe. It's like a pogo stick on the back. So I removed the bags and installed the Roadmasters. Still planning on putting the airbags though.

No, it works with the rear sway bar.

Any updates to this? Do they reduce bed bounce?

I’m interested as well. I’m not looking to lift my rear much if at all. I have 130k on it and the leaf pack is not in the greatest shape. Also have original shocks. Planning to upgrade to the Eibach front and rear shocks. I have a DECKED system and also additional 150-200lbs on top of that at all times so roughly 350-400lbs in the bed. Would rather do these than airbags or AAL, since I don’t want to lift the rear just level the front with new shocks. I also tow a 5500lb travel trailer on occasion. Thoughts?

I have the Firestone RideRite airbag kit with the onboard compressor and wireless controller. Without the airbags, pulling my 4500# boat with 400# TW dropped the rear about 2". Airbags at 5 psi have no noticeable effect on the ride when empty (actually, I think the airbags provide a little more damping effect, taming the leaf springs a little). If you've ever pulled a 53' trailer with air suspension, you damned well know the difference between pulling that and pulling a trailer with leaf springs. Air bags tend to dampen themselves.

Anyway, with the boat hooked up, it takes 34psi to raise the truck back to normal height and level the boat trailer, putting equal weight on each of the trailer's tandem axles. Now I'm considering sliding the tandems back a few inches and increasing the tongue weight a hundred pounds.

I put the load masters on a couple of weeks ago. Unladen, the ride is actually improved, especially in turns. Less body roll. It did raise the rear an inch on the lighter adjustment I have towed about 75 miles with a 5000# trailer. It seems very stable. I put on the HD version as I will be towing close to max from time to time. I was told by a seasoned friend, that bags and weight distribution hitches are problematic. The trailer company also said they did not recommend it. I should have inquired why, but just trusted their experience.

I tow a 7700 lb travel trailer and have had the standard RAS on my 2017 Tundra DC for about 18 months. During that period towed about 6,000 miles. I think it has helped tighten up the rear end resulting in a less body roll, trailer sway and definitely less porpoising. It does lift the rear end a little bit unloaded (maybe 1-1.5") and I like the look. If I had to do it again, I would do the HD model.

    Too many, but not enough....
Thinking to remove my sway bar and get this so I can run a differential skid. Does the RAS completely fill in for the rear sway bar or between the 2, would the actual sway bar be better at the job?
I imagine you would get more articulation with the RAS over the sway bar correct?

I have the HD kit, great little addition. Have loaded over a ton in the truck several times. However, I also have Dobinson's HD leaf packs. That being said, my truck barely squats with a ton or more on it, and that includes over 1k behind the axle. RAS is just perfect for keeping my springs arched well for many years to come.

Well, I lifted my front almost 3 in. to level it.
It does not look rear low at all.
I have Sumos on the rear for support and they act like sway bars only nicer.
