Avoiding body mount chop

    Hey fellas, I have a 2020 Tundra SR5 Crewmax 4X4 I'm bone stock currently but am very interested in running 35x12.50r18. I plan to go with a 6 inch suspension lift, I'm just worried about clearing that body mount and am willing to go the mile to try to avoid it. The wheels I want have a 4.5 back spacing and -12 offset, so my question is should I clear without any running for scrubbing with the 6 inch lift?(I know I most likely will need to trim inner fender for front clearance which i'm fine with.) P.S sorry Admin if this in the wrong Thread

    Dont be scared. Its such a minor trim. When done properly nobody would even know it was trimmed

    the bmc is probably less invasive than a 6" lift where they cut the cross member imo

    I agree with the two previous posts.
    Also, I would use at least a +25 offset wheel to try and avoid a bmc.

    Thanks for the input guys, I'm currently speaking with someone in regarding a bmc. Do any of y'all know if this type of work messes with warranty from dealer?

    It would likely void warranty related to the frame, which would be my hesitation In doing so. There have been so many frame rust issues it seems a really convenient way for toyota to deny your claim years down the road for rust.

    Cutting your frame for the 6 inch lift will void the frame warranty more than the BMC will.

    The frame is made out of welded metal pieces. The bmc is a piece of metal that gets welded on as well

    Yea both will be a warranty issue for the frame.

    Personally I do not think you will run into a problem with a -12 I have a +1 might as well be a 0 and i dont come close at all it also depends on how wide of a wheel your talking but here is mine with 18x9 +1 with 35 12.5 18 bfgs

    I'm running 34.7× 12.5 with 20 offset no trim no rub. They also have a 4 and 6" no chop lift as I remember.

    I have read some good things and alot of people run them around here cant be to bad I guess after all the make step bars lol. But they do have a 40k mile warranty as well

    They could deny any warranty claims that the work caused. There is no such thing as voiding your warranty because of mods. They have to look at each claim, and to deny it on the basis of a mod they have to show that the mod caused the problem. *IN THE USA.     Dont avoid the BMC if you want that stance. I have to laugh though at I want to avoid a BMC, and I want a 6" lift that involves cutting a good 10-12" section of frame out. Ive BMC'd multiple vehicles and never had an issue with it.

    You either do it, or you either stay stock, or you could just act like you cant hear it chirp against the frame when you reverse.

    As long as you get the bmc done correctly you shouldnt have any issues with the frame. Im sure it will void your warranty on the frame but how often do tundras have frame issues.

    Ranch Hand Summit front and rear bumpers. Diamondback SE tonneau cover. Rigid DOT fogs. LED headlight/fog replacement bulbs. Matt Gecko hood, and bed LED's. Foot well led's, and interior LED buld replacement. (warm) Broke the front shock of the 3" spacer lift, so replaced with 6112/5160 and 1' block rear. KO 2's. Speaker replacement, added amp and (2) 10's under seat. Weathertech floor mats. Salex organizers. Ziebart undercoating. RCI front, transmission/diff, and gas tank skids received, waiting for spring install. Compustar remote starter. front/rear dash cam.
    Depending on where you live, using a rust prevention spray like Fluid Film or Crown on the Undercarriage , would protect the BMC,
    , as well as the frame.

    We have a 2013 tundra TRD Rock Warrior. After a whole lot of research, we discovered that most standard (readylift, rough country etc..) 4/6” lifts for the Tundra are not compatible with the TRD Pro or the Rock Warrior. The few that are; are way more expensive (around 1k more). Maxtrac turned out to be the only reasonably priced option for those models and no cutting (there is actually a little easy cutting of forward tabs on the front end rear crossmember). I am very pleased with the kit. Very beefed up spindles, new drop crossmembers and front differential mounts that lower the differential to keep your axels at a decent angle, and comes with every little bracket and extension line holders you need.

    installation: not a mechanic by trade, but have a decent array of tools and pretty good mechanical skills, so along with decent instructions it wasn’t to bad. Although not horrible, also not super easy just due to basically removing your entire front drive system on an independent front suspension vehicle. Took me two long nights after work to knock it out and was solo most of the time. Admittedly there was multiple occasions of wasted time drinking a beer and staring at it hoping it was going to finish itself. Just due to trying to hold up parts and aligning them, having to crawl out from underneath to get a different tool, etc… another set of able hands is recommended.

    special tools: If like most backyard mechanics you don’t already have one, you will need to rent a spring/coil over compressor, the spindle nut is 39mm so my local stores only sold up to 38mm (was able to rent one from auto parts store), although the tabs aren’t sever structural cutting you will want a 4” grinder with a cut off wheel (could not remember who I loaned mine to so managed it with a small dremel, but took way longer).

    end result: love the kit, very thorough and all parts were heavy duty and rides no different then it did prior. Running 20”/9 wide rims with +1 offset with 35/12.50 r20s. They stick out just right to look good and not be to ridiculous. You will have to remove mudflaps to prevent rub on extreme turn radius.
