Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension, HD RAS, 285/75-18 Nokian Outpost AT, LoPro bed cover, TRD rear sway bar, DD 10 inch exhaust, and various other goodies
So I have narrowed my tire choices down to 4:
    BFG k02 59lbs $253
    Nitto RG 56# $259
    Wrangler UltraTerrain 55# $241
    Cooper AT3 XLT 54# $220

I have included the weight of each tire and the cost for value comparison and any potential impact to performance and MPG.

Going on a 16 CM 4x4, TRD OR, stock suspension and wheels in size 275/70-18. The truck currently has the stock Michelin AT2 in 275/65 size. I would like something that looks good, performs well all around in different weather conditions, has a good ride, not loud. Of the choices, it looks like only the Coopers have any mileage warranty, at 60k.

I do some towing- 2600# pop up camper. Limited off road use. I would love to hear your feedback.

    Please vote!

I have the ridge grapplers in 275/70/18. Been on the truck for almost 25k now and still look new. They are quiet on the highway and get good all around traction in wet/slick/snow around here. I know when its time to replace my set, I will by the ridge grapplers again.

I would skip all those tires and look at the Falken AT3 or the General Grabber ATX

I don't know about the size you are looking for but in the 315/70R17 that I have, they have a few 32's more tread than any other all terrain. They also have a tread life warranty and the mountain snow flake symbol. They are what I would have bought but I ended up getting the General for a great deal.

I love my Cooper AT3 XLT's, but would have considered the Wildpeak AT3's if they were avail and cheaper.

I'm a bit over 20k miles on my Ridge Grapplers. 0 complaints.

I went with 285/70 for a little more size.

I had the KO2's on a Chevy Suburban before I got the Tundra, so this isn't apples to apples, but I think the Cooper's have less road noise and grip better on wet pavement.

I have the XLT's in 275.70.18 and I'm extremely happy with them. In that size you're going to lose a little mileage. Weight was one of my deciding factors when I got them, not that it made a noticeable difference but any little bit can't hurt. Traction is great and in that size they are 3 peak/ severe snow rated. I do a ton of Ridge Grapplers at my shop with no complaints and of the minimal feedback that I get, they seem to wear well for most folks. The lack of a warranty is their only turn off for me. The Wildpeaks have a 55k warranty and may have been my second choice but the weight dissuaded me. I have had nothing short of great experiences with Coopers on several different vehicles over the years so I might be somewhat biased.

I know your already narrowed down your options but I recently pick up these TOYO Open Country C/T . Supposed to be their "commercial grade" tire an has the 3 peak snow rating (if that matters to you). Its a nice aggressive tread without being a mud tire, looks better in person . I ended up with them over the Nittos to save a little $.. Obviously I cant speak long term use but i really like them so far..

I don't actually own one of the options listed, so I just voted for the Nitto tire. I'm currently running the Yokohama A/T and will switch over to the Toyo M-55 when my current set is finished.

I checked out the link for those Toyo tires and they only go up to 275/ 70. Maybe they come in bigger sizes? I was thinking of eventually going what you have currently bc they would fit with a small lift and have no spacers for the rims (285/75). Do you still like them?

People always hate on the Falken Wildpeak AT3W for their weight. I see this as a small penalty. I also honestly haven’t ever seen anyone put them or the other tires on a scale. Also noted that weight can be different on different sites online. If they weigh extra then they have extra rubber, is that all that bad for your intended use? You are buying an LT tire on a V8 truck. Not sure you’re gaining much by buying inferior tires that weigh less.

I haven’t had the cooper, but they look very comparable to the Falken besides not being snow peak rated. The BFG are inferior to the Falken in daily driving in my experience. The Ridge Grappler are a different category that will be worse in rain, but probably better in mud. Wouldn’t buy Goodyear bc they are paper thin and overpriced. So of your options I’d say RG or XLT, but personally feel like you’ll be missing out on the Falken.

    I didn’t vote.

Id consider Wildpeak AT3W as well.

AT3W and the Coopers are getting the most positive response. Seems like both of those tires offer good road manners and performance.

Yes, I still like my Yokohama A/T tires. I just wanted to go a little smaller on the next set of tires.

OP, the BFG tires suck. I've had a couple of bad experiences now and they had weak sidewalls and didn't do well on wet roads.

I had good luck with the RG in that size on my 17 for 35k miles, considering them for my 20 or Trail Grapplers. Oh and BTW per Nitto's website the RG is 58.47#.

Yep BFG is a very over rated tire. A lot better tires out there these days for the money.

Stay away from the BFG. I have the Ridge Grapplers in 285/70 but the Falkens and Coopers are popular as well.

I'm thinking about the same but 275 65 18 Nitto Ridge grapplers........I have been thru all sizes in the last ten yrs and last set i had were 295 70 18 and looked great but ride like shit and truck lost power and mpgs terrible so i went back to the 275 65 18 Michellin LTX at2 and absolutely love this. But for aggressive look I'm leaning towards the Nitto Ridge grapplers again but not in E load

For me the E load just not worth the weight. And MPGs specially since mine is a Daily Driver. Only tire I have found to be in the 295 70 18 Non E load is the Nitto Terra Grapplers G2. I went from avg 15 mpg with stock tire size and highway up to 20 mpg to then avg 10 or 11 mpg and 15 highway to me that was not worth it. To others it might.

Bump. I like your thinking. Running falken 275/70r18 on my 2015 at 12.8 mpg. Looking for a lighter tire. The tour at3 is much lighter in this size but I would hate to buy them and have no better mpg. I may have to go down to a size. Yes, I know we do not buy a tundra for fuel economy.

I had falkens on my taco, and was trying to get a set for my tundra when I bought it, but availability was an issue. Ended up with cooper stt pros, and love em. Would definitely recommend.

I have KO2’s with about 40k on them. 275/70r18 on TRD off-road wheels.

They look badass and I have been really impressed with how well they’ve held up to the mesquite thorns out at our ranch. Every tire I’ve had before has gotten pin sized holes requiring replacement - I’ve yet to replace these and have honestly run through more crap I shouldn’t have with them. That alone will lead me to buy again.

Brand new they were real quiet and smooth. Now, they make a tiny amount of noise when turning in neighborhoods and slower speeds, but otherwise still very quiet on highway, etc.
Mine tend to cup on the outer edge up front so I should have started rotating more frequently sooner than I did.

I’ve read a lot of good things about the other tires, but will continue with what I know works for now.
