Good afternoon everyone, looking at purchasing a Tundra soon. Leaving my Tacoma will be hard but as the kids are getting older and pulling an RV I believe it is time. Not really a fan of buying new but searching for used ones has been a hassle. Attached is my Taco that has been great to me. D3C6462D-BB6D-4593-A418-F9977320484B.jpg

    Welcome from TX.

Shopping used can be a chore. Tundras really hold their value. Resale is really good especially on late year models. Many shop new with better interest and not pay a whole lot more.

    Good Luck!

I am leaning towards new since the prices are not much higher, but I have had good luck with used Toyota’s in the past. Good to hear from a fellow Texan. I grew up in Houston.
I have been searching on car gurus and might head to Nashville this weekend to bargain around.

Nothing wrong with used, especially with Toyota. Just food for thought on prices.

I do not believe anyone buys a Toyota for gas mileage. Even my Tacoma is terrible at that.

I have been on Tacoma World for 5 years. You wouldn’t imagine how many people think it gets good gas mileage. I am guessing that is one of the biggest complaints for a Tundra.

Welcome! If you're trading in your Taco, you will also see the benefit of that toyota resale. Silver lining, and all that.

Do you know if you are looking for a double cab or a crewmax? Any specific trims or colors you are shooting for?

Here in southern Oregon I have seen many 1st generation Tundra's that look like they just came off the showroom floor, the 2007 Tundra we got had 244,000 miles when we bought it, it ran and shifted like it was new, engine, transmission and differentials all were bone dry, no oil leaks whatsoever, the paint was exceptional as was the interior, for $9,000, it certainly seems to be more valuable than what we paid. The only complaint I have is that the bumpers are like tinfoil, now if I could just get my wife to agree, I'd get aftermarket bumpers, the way they look doesn't bother her, but I'd sure feel better with some heavy duty bumpers. Anyway, hope you find what you want, soon.

Crewmax SR5 is what I am looking for. Preferably white or red. I test drove a 2019 TRD Sport the other day, but need to work them on the price and not a fan of the 20in rims. Hopefully by Saturday I can have one in my driveway.

They might have some 18 inch take offs that they are willing to swap out for you as part of the purchase. That Barcelona Red looks SO DAMN GOOD! There are some with the bumpers and grille surround blacked out and they just look so slick. I know the instagram tab for this forum has one that is particularly nice. Let us know what you get!

35k is where I am at on a used one, with my trade I have 13k as a down payment. Once I sell all my aftermarket parts I plan to put that against a topper.
