Got the DD SS3 Pro foglights - CHECK

Tried the basic 5-minute foglight mod BUT it doesn't give you full control of your fogs if you want to run fogs with low or high headlights. (at least not on my 2014) - NOPE!

SO . . . I ordered that Amazon switch(Single Pole Single Throw ON - OFF PUSH switch) and plugged into my dash blank.

Can tap into light blue wires on the wires on neighboring door light switch for illumination. Switch now works but does NOT light up?

See the grounding bolt under the kick panel with two black/white wires to it.

This schematic matches my switch wires.

    switch schematic.jpg

I did get the switch to function as a ground loop off of the bent pin on the foglight relay from the engine bay. So the switch turns the DD SS3 fogs on and off, but not illuminate in the cabin.

Could someone tell me which colors will turn the foglights on/off AND light up the switch?

Can you help me out here?

I have a different switch but wiring looks similar and wired both terminal 2 and 3 together to the power and that lit up my switch.

As in it does not illuminate even when the fog lights are on, or never illuminates, period?

My Air ob Board switches illuminate, but only when the accessory is on.

Okay I'll try that. But when you mean terminals 2 and 3 together to power, are you running to the illumination circuit? Typically light blue wire on neighboring switch.

With my current wiring, foglights work but the switch does not illuminate when the fogs are powered on.

Right now I'm running one ground wire from the foglight relay in the engine bay all of the way to Terminal 1. Green

The other end of the connector, Terminal 4, black wire runs to ground under the dash.

Believe Terminal 3, orange wire runs to the illumination circuit, light blue wire maybe on the interior door light switch [that might be the problem as the light might need to be on].

    That's my mess for now.

No, I meant to the power, wherever you run it from like battery or a constant power or power from neighboring switch but not the illuminated wire

Now, I did connect to the foglight relay and am grounding off of that relay's pin as shown in the first few pix of this thread:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/easy-5-min-anytime-fog-light-relay-mod-diy.20508/

Okay, so NOT the illumination wire which is relayed but I need constant power. Without going through the firewall grommet back into the engine bay, where could I Posi-Tap in for constant power?

that part I don’t know. I did a lightbar and that had its own harness. Did some grill lights but had to run wire from fuse box through the firewall.
Possibly some fuse incab? Or if you can run through firewall, you can do an add-a-fuse

Terminal 1 (green): this is what will power your fogs, tap into a fuse next to parking break that provides enough amps and only is powered w/ ignition on.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BU59QA8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_o19CFll54W8jS

Terminal 2 (red): Goes to the red wire of your fogs. This will give your fogs power when the switch in turned on (power is supplied from previous step)

Terminal 3 (red): this is what will power your switch letters. Tap into a neighboring switch, it will have a few wires going into it from the rear, one of which is only hot when the headlights are turned on. Tap into that and connect to terminal 3.

Terminal 4 (ground): ground this as close as possible, use that ground bolt in the kick panel you mentioned you saw.

I’m assuming your ultimate goal is to have your fogs completely independent of the stock on the steering wheel and controlled by your new switch. If this is the case, follow these directions according to your picture and you’ll be golden.

    @Jrharvey02

This was all run through my foglight relay. Your instructions remain the same?

No, run terminal 2 to relay (instead of fog light). Tho I’m not sure what else is going on w that relay since it’s factory. My statement above is more for a new relay being used to power fogs...

Did you watch the video at the bottom of the first post in the Easy 5 minute anytime fog post you linked to? Terminal 1 needs to be 12V + with ignition. Use add a fuse as JrHarvey said. Currently you're running Terminal 1 green all the way to the ground of the factory fog relay? Is the fog relay also grounded? If so I don't even understand how they are working at all.........

At this point, I'd just take the factory fog relay out of the equation and use a standard Bosch-type relay set up to allow the fogs to come on whenever the key is on (constant-on trigger wire from relay). Then follow JrHarvey's directions. And move terminal 3 from door light switch to whatever switch is next to the switch you're installing. And use in-line fuses everywhere..... and for God's sake's disconnect the battery. I'm actually surprised your computer works at this point.... Unless I'm completely misunderstanding the "Right now I'm running one ground wire from the foglight relay in the engine bay all of the way to Terminal 1. Green" statement.

OK, I watched the Easy 5 minute video and now understand what he's doing....... He's using the switch as a grounding circuit. Take a look at the bottom diagram at post #4 at this link: https://www.tundras.com/threads/2019-tundra-air-on-board-wiring.39909/#post-1015180

Thank you all for your patience and kindness. I'm bold when it comes to projects like this. Yes, was using switch as a grounding circuit.

if you want to illuminate switch like others in cab then piggy back on one next to it using posi tap. That's what I did on mine for my ditch lights.
for the other wires: one to ground (dedicated), one to +12 and one to relay if I remember correctly.

    @BlueBottle always have good inputs.

If you were grabbing +12v power, which fuse would you tap into? Cigarette lighter? I do charge my phones and run GPS power off that circuit.

Rear Park Light fuse, it’s 15 amp and surely should have some amps to share. I’ve never had an issue.

Is that fuse under the dash near the emergency brakes?

Can't find in on the schematics.

Yes, the cap to that fuse box has a diagram on it, take a peek at that...

Help with wiring switch please? I want to negative ground the signal wire and light up the LED in the switch.
(factory look 4 wire toggle or less attractive 3 prong LED toggle switch)
I'm doing the same thing but cannot get the switch to work. I'm not using the kit's light plugs, fuse and positive relay since my truck is "prewired". I'm trying to use an aftermarket switch instead of adding steering wheel signal arm switch.
The cheap chinese push toggle LED 4 wire switch...
It had 2 green wires joined together, a blue and and a black wire.
I need to ground the signal wire with the switch but would also like the LED to work and not try to send 12v to the negative relay.

Prewired 2011 tundra grade. I installed fog light pods and plugged into factory harness that was taped up in the bumper.
I added an OEM relay and FFog fuse under the hood.
I tapped into the J-3 pin 28 pink wire, the Tail fused wire (going to use illumination circuit wire from neighboring switch instead), and ground.
If I ground the signal wire (j3pin28) the fog lights come on (so relay, factory harness, and correct signal wire are all working)
