Trying to keep my towels is good shape. Any specific thing to use to wash them?

(And that griots drying towel was freakin awesome btw. Thanks for the recommendation!)

I use griots microfiber towel and pad cleaner. Or 3D kleen MF towel cleaner.
Any dedicated MF cleaner should work fine. The griots and 3D are usually the most affordable.
You can use some tide free and clear, but only use a little and add some vinegar too. Use cool or warm water, not too hot. You can machine dry on low or no heat. Don't use any scents, fabric softener, dryer sheets, etc.

I use the griots as well. Reasonably priced, works great.

All Free and Clear....wash on short cycle, then add extra rinse and spin. Tumble dry on 'air dry' temperature setting. I then hang them up to complete the drying process. Towels come out clean and soft

Mine just graduate from being used as a clean micro fiber to clean clean things down to the final stage of being an oil rag before getting tossed. Best to just buy new ones.

Same. Costco yellow MF towels are cheap. And I always need oil and grease rags.

Good stuff guys. Thanks for the tips. I’m more worried about keeping the towels clean so I don’t scratch the paint then anything else. I’ll order some Griots as it seems it’s made to get the wax out and stuff

the key is not really what you wash with but how you dry them. Hang to dry is best IMO

The Rag Co. says to wash theirs using regular detergent. No fabric softener and tumble dry on low to no heat. I almost wonder if the companies selling specific MF wash are just tiring to milk a little more $$ out of their customers.

I wash mine the same way I launder dirty clothing.

Warm water, delicate cycle, treated with Shout or some kind of stain remover before loading.

    Tumble dry low heat.

It's worked for me for the past 15 years or so. I still have microfibers in good shape from my first detail in 2005.

This may very well be true, but the added cost is probably $3-4/year, so I’d rather have the extra peace of mind for the $. The Griots stuff is an additive you use with your regular detergent so a gallon would last most of us the life of our truck.

I've been washing my microfibers with tide for years and tumble dry on low with no negative effects. Never any lint in the trap. No need to spend the money on special soaps IMO.
