Actually, Cooper didn't sell out to Apollo tires and are still one of only two US tire companies. The other being Goodyear.

Looking at 295/70/18. I'll be running the stock trd rims for now.

I'm going with the markup is higher on the ATII which is why he is leading you that way or because they are just a more rugged tire and you told him your intended uses and he just spit out weight because...idk lol

Much prefer the Coopers over the Toyos that were on my truck when I bought it.

Nah. Fake news applies to professional researchers and news staff who refuse to do their research or [most often] intentionally misrepresent the facts to advance their own, political agenda.

This is just a casual comment on a forum [sharing what I've heard others commenting on in recent years].

Hopefully, we won't have to meet professional standards to comment on here in the future.:D

I bought Coopers for probably 20 years and loved them, haven't for about 6 years now.

Reviews on Tundras.com have been mixed, as of late, which has scared me away from them. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/tires/cooper.html

I was going to buy those AT XLTs, but now, I'm going to follow my brother's recommendation and go with some Yokohamas when I need tires again.

Of course, that will probably be a while because my K02s don't wear and won't quit. I just don't like them because traction is bad on wet pavement.

Wow! I hope this is just one of those random things.

But I have to admit, one of my ties do have a wheel wheel and bead weights. I have to check how much weight they have to put to get it balanced.

I've had them on my truck in a larger than stock size (285/75r18) since November of 2018, and put ~6k miles on them. Mine are E rated so they're a bit hard, but otherwise good. Not loud, smooth ride, and seem to be wearing nicely, but it's a bit early on mileage to tell.

They do not perform well in mud, but they're A/Ts and not M/Ts so that's to be expected.

I currently run Goodyear Wrangler with Kevlar, Old ones lasted nearly 100K. Still had tread left on em. Got the same tires again and quite happy.

This is PR 6.75 oz., PF 1.5 oz., DF 4.5 oz., DR 5.25 oz.

Looking at the previous weights adhesive residue, it's not far off fron 275.65.18.

I'm looking at these and Nittos for replacements once the stock KO2s finally wear. I've had Nitro Terra Grapplers on my last F150 and a Ram before that, I've also had Cooper Discoverer AT/3 on another F150 and loved them.

It will be between these 2 tires for replacement. I've always played with trying the AT KOs but could never get past the price. Now that I've had them on 2 separate Tundras I've learned enough to know that I'd never pay for them. They are a disappointment at best. They ride rough, don't stay balanced, bad traction on wet roads and are magnets for road debris and other sharp objects.

Weird. I absolutely loved the KO2s I had. I drove through a few hellacious snowstorms on hunting trips and had great luck with them.
