Get them. Cooper makes great tires. I've owned the ST Maxx's and STT Pro M/T's. Those XLT's have become quite popular with great reviews.

    Ran XLTs on my Tacoma.

    Cons:
    They were very quiet
    They were very comfortable
They did well in all weather conditions
    They're affordable

    Yeah, they suck.

Really though, best overall daily driver tire I've ever owned. Only downside is they run a bit small on width, Ill attach a picture of a 295 XLT next to a 265 Nitto RG. They were better in every way, other than aggressive looks when compared against the RGs.

I just put Falken Wild Peak AT3W's on my GX470. I didn't go with the E load range, as the KO2's on my Tundra feel pretty stiff and the GX Iisn't as heavy. I don't have many miles on the Falken's yet, but they look and drive great so far.

I was dead set on Cooper AT3 XLT's in 295/70/18 - they are going on in about 2 weeks from Discount. The shop installing my shims and shackles next week didn't recommend the Cooper's and said I'd be much happier with the Toyo's. He said the Coopers are going to ride rough....now I'm unsure which to go with. I'll be watching this thread for input.

Of all the reviews I've read, and there are lots of them, about the Cooper XLT, not one mentioned anything about them riding rough. Quite the opposite actually. Both my sets of Coopers didn't ride rough either. Any shop that wouldn't recommend Cooper's would immediately be off my list.

His reasoning was that they are a much heavier tire, but not what I've gathered when looking at other comparable tires. His wife's 4 runner had the Cooper's on it and he wasn't a fan. I know Toyo makes a great A/T, although I've never actually run them myself before. I've read all the pages on the Cooper AT3 XLT thread and none were really negative, so not really buying his comment. I guess it just threw a wrench in my decision when I was dead set on the Cooper's.

Can you imagine Bruce Jenner doing a Tundras.com thread?

Thread title: "I'm cutting off my man parts, talk me out of it."

No, no, you do you, Bruce.:monocle:

P.S. I quit buying Coopers when they sold out to some company in India. I've heard there are some quality control issues now.:notsure:

    It was on my Tacoma.

    DSC_0097.jpg IMG_0976.jpg

Ive ran KO2, Trail graps, Ridge Graps, Falken AT3W, Cooper ST Maxx and XLTs.

Both the Coopers were more comfortable than the rest. The only ones I couldnt stand were the KO2s.
If I had to rank by preference it would be:

ST Maxx (not as good as the XLT for a DD, but the perfect balance of ruggedness and DD-ability)
    XLTs
    Ridge Graps
    Falkens
    Trail Graps
    KO2s

I have the regular AT3’s, bought them before the XLT’s came out. Can’t ask for a better overall AT style tire, very smooth and quiet with good traction. Probably buying XLT’s next year once I hit 60k miles.

Coopers are a great tire and I have ran several sets. Only con is they get loud after 30-40K.

    What size you shopping?

I'm going to guess here and say the ATII will be heavier.

FWIW ATIII are going to be released soon from what I have seen in a different thread.

I ran the AT3 OG version, had 1 or 2 replaced right off the bat due to tire pull. The only other "problem" was cactus or something in the sidewall-not repairable. I went to the MAXX after that. I think the coopers AT are a 2ply sidewall. That was the only tire I ever had any issues with regarding desert damage.

Get the Cooper’s! I’m a big Michelin guy and have been for years but man these At3 XLTS have been awesome. 275/65R20 on my tundra in 10 ply and I love them! Super smooth and really quiet honestly on the road. Will definitely buy another set once these wear out.

I’ve had them. Good tires. Good price as well. They were great in the snow and surprisingly good on greasy two tracks.

    Same here.
After running stock 285/55/20 KOs (ride sucked), now running 275/60/20 KO2s (ride is better), my next tire will be 275/60/20 Cooper AT3 XLT.
There are threads on a couple Tundra forums ranting about how great they are...

I will admit I haven't had a flat running the KOs or KO2s, the KO2s are wearing better, but I plan to go with the XLT Coopers when my KO2s wear out...
