Shackles or blocks to get an extra 0.75" of rake

My 2020 Pro is very level (maybe 1/2" higher in rear). I'd like another 0.75" of rake for functionality reasons. All the shackle manufacturers I've looked at say "not for use in Pro due to dual exhaust". Blocks would seem a better answer (doesn't change pinion tilt) but I can't find anything around 0.75". Has anyone faced this issue, if so then how did you solve it?

I believe you can get away with the +1 Coachbuilder shackle without hitting the exhaust...keep in mind the exhaust clearance would really come into play at full droop IIRC...but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in

I think more folks on here lean replacing the shackles.

I would give David @Coachbuilder1 a call or pm him and he can walk you through what you would need to achieve that.

Shackles 100%. They actually help the ride dynamics than hurt it, as blocks would.

Does everyone switch out the rear rubber bushings for the included poly bushings?

Definitely! That really completes the package. Even if you were going to keep the stock shackles, poly bushings really clean everything up. Your stock bushings are splined, so when you tighten the shackle against them they are bound in that spot. The poly bushings allow the shackle to do its job.

I have +1 coachbuilder shackles in combination with Alcan leaf pack on my 17 Pro. Setup works great. +1 shim will not hit dual exhaust.

I appreciate all the inputs, sounds like 1" shackles should do the trick. Are new bolts includes or do you reuse your old ones.

They come with new hardware (aka bolts) you will be all set....it will be a little bit of work to pull the stock bushings from your leafs….if you click the link I posted above it shows you everything they come with and even has instructions on changing them

Start hitting those bushings in the leafspring with some PB blaster now. I rented a balljoint press. The cups weren’t quite deep enough to push it all the way out but once they got started it was easy to push them out the rest of the way. You can get creative.

Second what Sean said....if you get the 4x4 balljoint press adapter from wherever you rent the balljoint press from it should be deep enough to press them all the way out.

I would love to gain about an inch more rake in the rear. Still not sure how I'm going to go about that yet. For the time being I will let that sleeping dog lay.

My headlights have electric motors to tilt them down, are there also manual adjustments to tilt them back up (after adding more rake)?

Yes. I marked the gear with paint pen and tried one turn on both sides. Ended up trying three turns and backing it off down to two full turns. I figured I’d liked the level they were at stock and typically run it at around 2 on the dial inside the truck. So I tried to get it back into that same zone after the lift. I’m sure there is a better way to do it bye marking it on your garage door etc. etc. but this was my simple man’s way of doing it.

If you are looking for 3/4" to 1" of rake on a PRO, go with the +2 shackle from Coachbuilder.

Running toytec at 1.5, most shackles will come with grade 8 hardware, blocks are not that great, coachbuilder will last forever, on the cheaper end you have max trac and proform fabrication, keep in mind also if u ever want to add deavers in the rear youll need a certain type of shackle, i believe either total chaos or camburg

Did the CB 1" kit today (and rear sway bar since I was under the truck). Appreciate all the comments.

Was at 0.4" of rake (I measured when new and was at 0.6" as I recall but have since added a hard tonneau cover or maybe it settled) and now I'm at 1" of rake. I can live with 1" and I did not see any danger to the exhaust. I will say the brake lines get pretty tight at full droop.

I run the CB+2s with the pro suspension and exhaust. I’ve hit quite a few trails and have yet to rip anything off. That being said, I’m not putting it on full flex on a daily/weekend basis. I’d say weigh the benefits of each set up compared with what you’ll be using the truck for. Regardless, I’ll echo what others have said about the CB shackles and poly bushings. Completely worth it!

I’d agree with everyone else. Grab some shackles. I have a 1” block and it’s fine for. Now. I’ll eventually get shackles when I redo my suspension.

I have a 2019 Pro and put the CB +1s on. The rake is now 1 1/4" which I think looks good. When I put a dirt bike in the back or hook up a light trailer the rake is slightly higher than level. I bought the ball joint press from Harbor Freight and it worked great.
