It pained me to do it but my neighbor got a helluva deal and I know he will appreciate it. 14mpg killing me as I basically drive for a living and company changed policy so needed to make a change. It's been fun and educational. I am in agricultural sales and drive 40k a year. I understand the zealot fever for Tundras and I am one but had to make a choice and if it's wrong so be it.

Dude, I get it. I put a decent amount of miles on my truck, and the mpg sucks. Especially after I drove a EcoBoost F150 rocket ship. I’m interested in the rumors of the 2021 hybrid...

Did you have a lift and bigger tires? I have a 2020 with no lift and stock tires and getting 19-20mpg at 65-70mph. I got a best of 21mpg on a longer trip. It's only a couple of mpg worse than the F150 but my resale and reliability are a big plus over the Ford.

I feel your pain, did the same thing October due to long commute and MPG. I will have another one eventually but for right now it didn't make economic sense

Sad but I would do the same thing. If I were paying for all of the gas in my truck there is NO WAY I would ever own this. The Dodge (6 Cylinder) Eco-D is touting 29MPG. Good Luck!

Yes, leveled out the rake and 33's. Even stock never got above 16 running Michelin Defenders and nonlift

Picked up a Duramax 2500 and riding on 33's average 17 yesterday with mostly town driving. Highway (which is 70% of what I do ) should be better

I am thinking about it too but looking at a Rav4 Hybrid

I may be switching careers and think a car would be better off for me.

Still on the fence about it though. I haven't owned a car in years

This is the data from Fuelly comparing the F150 to the Tundra. There is only a difference of 2-3mpg between the two and the Tundra for 2020 is almost the same. Fuel is cheap right now and I would rather pay a little extra for fuel to gain the reliability over the Ford.

My drive to work is about 24 miles. 20 of which is on the highway. 4 on backroads to get to highway. I average 17.5 and I'm running stock tires. I've been happy with the mpg so far. It's bad when i'm just driving around town, but 90% of my miles are to work, so I really can't complain.

Can't fund the fuel if the cash is coming in lower (or differently) than before. Sucks, but I've done that too. Good luck with the new ride. Hopefully your Comp plan just shifted and wasn't cut.

The price of gasoline (87 octane) is again below $2 a gallon where I live.

At what gasoline price would one not really give a phvck about mileage?

The mileage is good. My buddy has one. They recently required him to bring it in to detune it for emissions lawsuits, and it now lacks power. Few months later, EGR is cracked and drinking coolant. They wont have a fix for him until April, and his truck is at the dealer. He's now in the market for a Tundra.

If I reset the mpg after getting on the freeway. As soon as you pass someone you see the mpg plummet.

BOOOOOOOOOOOO. I'd have probably done the same in your situation. As it is, my commute is only four miles each way, and I'm thinking of buying something more economical for a DD.

I have his same experience. I'm completely stock and drive mostly HWY to work everyday...those are the mpg numbers I typically achieve as well. No, I don't drive like "grandpa", I just drive the speed limit and I don't hotrod. I fluctuate between 19 and 21 depending on weather and winter vs summer fuel. In the city, though? Usually around 17.

Totally believable. Before lift and bigger tires I was able to get 19-20 mpg at 70mph. That is on longer road trips like @Ruggybuggy stated. See photos below. See odometer - these were taken 400 miles apart on a 3,000 mile road trip. I kept it at 70 mph the whole time (you can see the cruise control set at 70). Stopped for potty breaks, fill-ups, dinners etc. but most of the driving other than that was highway.

Boerseun, that’s my experience too. There are a few times I gun it during my drive, but 16+ mpg is pretty achievable over my 20mi/20mi commute into and out of Portland each day, and our traffic is among the worst.

Idling in the morning is what kills my overall mpg, and I can certainly choose NOT to do that.

I mean if you do the speed limit, which is never more than 70 here in ohio, with only highway driving, I don't see why you wouldn't get 18-20 on highway trips. Terrain makes a big difference and it's really flat here in Ohio, I'm sure you wouldn't see nearly that good if you were driving on the highways in west virginia.

@Boerseun just posted proof. I'm also getting around the same. Keep it stock, drive conservatively and easily achieved.

    I got 17.9 once [275/65/20s on a 3/1 level.

At least, that's what the computer said:monocle:

I loaded the fuelly app once and tracked the first tank ... but I lost interest after that

You all need to hand calculate. Don't trust the lie-o-meter. On second thought do not do it. You will be pissed
