I ordered the Katzkin leather with heat but may have time to switch my order to have the drivers side have the heat and cooling. What’s the verdict on cooled seats, is it with it, do they really make a difference. ?

My wife has OEM heated and cooled seats in her Highlander which are awesome, they're on my list for my next truck.

Not on the yodas, really don’t feel it as far as factory seating compared to others. Toyota a little behinds technology. Maybe on the new generation will be different....so to answer question

Op1.. try it on drivers side before buying all, should have a warranty or refund don’t like.

Op2.. just leather everything without all extra bologna.

Op3.. leave it alone and wait and see what the new gen of the Tundra brings out with the technology now, because they sure already have the reliable patted down. Now for the technology which Toyota is lacking, compared to others. Good luck On your decision.

On the highlander you do feel them but compared to others they take time to get the cool or heat you want. Also seems like not vented enough or designed right, Toyota is a little behind there technology. But made soon all will change!!!

They seem pretty quick to me, the cooling is actually a fan blowing on your butt and back, a good way to 'share', and the heat I can't really tell you because like leather in my tundra and only use the heat until the cab starts warming in the winter but the cooling would be nice on long trips.

I find the factory cooled seats work about meh at best. If you switch the A/C over to where the output is split between the dash vents and your feet, so that it blows some cold air under the seat, then the fans suck up some of that cold air, instant improvement to what it should be. I'm sure this would be the same with a katzkin kit.

The degreez actually cool the air (using a peliter device) it blows on the seat. My buddy's raptor has the cooled seats, and its really nice.

They do leave something to be desired when it’s roasting outside and you expect your ass and back to be frozen quickly, but I’ve heard aftermarket ones are better powered. What I’ve (accidentally) found is that the cooling is much more noticeable when you accidentally leave it on in the winter time. That’s when my ass gets froze and I start wondering wtf is going on and realize what’s happening. I then have a renewed sense of appreciation for their power. Get them, you’re going though all this work anyways...

Cooled seats work great! Only on the Platinum and 1794 Editions I believe.

They're average at best. The ones on our expedition start cooling fairly quickly. i get it that they are not truly air conditioned but it helps regardless. The ones on the Tundra cooled, they just took a little longer.
This was on a 2017 1794 Crewmax i had years ago.

Let's make sure we are clear on what is on Toyota's.....

They market them as cooled, but all it is is a fan in the seat blowing air. If you get in a hot truck in the summer and the cab is 100 degrees, it is blowing that air through the seat.

I have to be honest, they do not cool at all and are pretty much useless. We have them on my Platinum and 17 4Runner and you can not even tell they are on.

Other manufacturers have actual air conditioned seats. Those work great! I have ridden in some GMC and Fords with those features and they really work well.

If cooled seats are a draw in buying a Tundra you are going to be severely disappointed.

I used a different approach then having cooled seats. My truck an SR5 didn’t have it. I ended up removing my tint and replaced with ceramic tint. My truck now on 100 degree plus days have a temp inside the truck at about 70 degrees. I ended tinting all the windows including the windshield.

Actually Fords and Chevy’s are fans as well on the seats. The only manufacturers I’ve seen actual ac seats with ducts have been on Mercedes and BMWs. Primarily their upper end vehicles.

I haven't tried the cooled seated; but my heated leather seats are awesome in my 2020 Pro. It doesn't get crazy cold out here so I've only used them a couple of times when it's been in the 30s when I leave for work in the morning - but my wife always turns the passenger side one on, she says it helped relax the muscles in her back while she was pregnant. I saw a couple of people say they didn't notice the heating, but I definitely did, and it works fast, within a minute or two my buns are getting toasty.

This is a damn good idea, I wish I would have used it for that sooner!

When we had my expedition with the cooled seats option. It worked better if the AC was blowing on the floor vents. But after a while even on hot days it did very little to cool you down. Unfortunately I don’t think they use enough fans in the seat. Think about it a small person and large person are going to feel different in those seats anyways. Might work for some but not others.

Funny thing though, My old man has a 18 Mercedes S class. His AC seats will definitely freeze your balls off. Not to mention you can a massage when driving down the road. We did a 18 hour consecutive road trip on that car. Normally in any other vehicle I would be tired and beat up. This car I was tired, but not beaten up and no sore back. Wish I could say the same for my Tundra...:D

Cooled seats are definitely nice. My platinum has them. Although I haven't tested them out in the summer yet because I haven't had the truck for that long, they definitely cool my ass off after I leave the gym. I notice it almost as soon as I turn them on. This is my first vehicle with them and have to admit that I never knew I wanted it until I had it.

Couldn't disagree more! The Heated/Cooled seats in the 2020 Tundra Platinum are awesome in my opinion, they are every bit as nice as any comparable Ford, Chevy, Ram, etc.

I have the Katzkins with heated and cooled seats. The heater works great but the a/c seats aren’t that great. I have a 20 minute commute and they barely start working just a few minutes from the house. Another complaint is the fans are louder than I’d like.

For comparison I’ve had a/c seats on several fords and my brother in laws ram. All of them were 100% better than the Katzkins Degrees. Just my opinion but I feel like I would have been just as happy with heated only

Actually, They are marketed as "heated/Ventilated" which is much different than cooled. I find them to be effective. Not as effective as my Land Cruiser, but effective. YMMV.

Mercedes is the top dog all around when it comes to technology. Shit they have a bus that can drive itself. But the Mercedes truck upload_2020-2-14_21-49-5.jpg
this thing would be a beast to all makes and put everyone to ashamed. But I guess if you have the money nothing matters. But I guarantee you if you have the money you still want more. I’m just happy I have a somewhat reliable truck that’s not a Ford,Chevy,Dodge, or what else. I’m happy with my 4.6 Tundy that gets 20mpg plus I can still smoke the shit out of tires and pull the shit I need. So basically what I’m saying is that Toyota with or with out all the fancy shit that’ll break when warranty runs out, is still the number 1 truck in my book. And they came along way from the 1st T100 Tundy.
