Well we finally got another rescue, after losing our beloved GS Timber last June. IMG_0427.jpg Didn't really want another dog but a friend called about a dog in need of help. We said we'd help any way we could. As she described the dog and her situation, it sounded vaguely familiar. When my wife came home with her, I immediately recognized her as a dog I'd found and returned 3 years earlier. What a coincidence!! So without further ado here's our newest addition to the family... Ginger aka Gigi IMG_1875.jpgIMG_1899.jpg She's an Akita/German Shepard mix.

Kilo loves being outside. Snow was heavy yesterday. He always stays really close to my kids when outside. They think it's "annoying", but I call it babysitting.

He's a handsome boy. I have trained along side several people in the protection sports with imported working line Dutch Sheppard's and they definitely impress.

He's an imported working line from the Netherlands. His siblings all became working dogs as far as I was able to find out...Gunner however was purchased by a lady in Indiana or Illinois as a protection dog...got too big too fast and didnt take to her so she was given to her trainer who sent him to SC to a friend...friend got new job that takes him out of the country for weeks at a time so we adopted him

His drive is less than great and while we have basic obedience down, he doesn't care to do much in the way of tracking or scent work...even with high value rewards such as food or his favorite, a tennis ball...we can get maybe 10 or 15 minutes of interest in any given thing

JimBeam - Sounds like he is in the right place. I can relate, imported a working line dog (Dobe) from Europe 17 years ago and he was working at very high level obedience & sent tracking but could care less at times about the bite work so no titles for him! I kept him and at home he was the best dog I ever had. I still miss him.
    Cheers.
