'brush guard' perhaps don't do it at all. They're kinda known as "damage multipliers", for a reason. I've had more than one friend with one and they ended up very unhappy with the first fender bender, they'll cause more damage to your vehicle than if they weren't there.

Your horn is a better bet and slow down when you know they're around, dust and dawn...

    Depends which one you get.
There are a lot of negative opinions of them on various forums when you search for them.
I installed a ranch hand grille guard but also I don’t intend on seeing how fast I can hit a deer with it, it’s not that strong.

I’m not sure of the rules about posting links to other forums, but there is a post out there of a ranch hand grille guard vs deer at 65.
Front fender and bumper got a nice dent in it but overall it could have been way worse, truck was drive-able.

The grille guard I purchased seems ok, the tube that extends over the headlights would definitely give hitting a 200 lb doe or buck, but it may do ok on a lower speed impact. Even with a plate bumper and full protection I’d still slow down.
I installed it so I could drive away in the event that I hit a deer, hopefully saving my radiator if I’m in the middle of nowhere.

I’m really crossing my fingers that someone like Relentless, Bay Area Metal Fab or CBI makes a cool plate bumper for the tundra with the some added protection around the grille and lights. If they do then I’ll go that route.
Right now I think the only options for full protection are Ranch Hand and Fab Fours which I don’t care for the diamond plate look on either or ARB which doesn’t really match the body lines in my own opinion.

If you have good metal working skills and build one make sure you post some pics.

    good luck
    Ken

Ranch Hand if you decide to go that route. Damage multiplier or life saver. Depends on what you hit and how fast. All about mass...

Anybody have experience with the Westin HDX 57.3705. Its not the strongest but I like the looks the best. I have heard two opinions as to its effect on the proximity sensors on the bumpers. Hate to spend the money, have it painted ot match my truck only to find out that I cant use the sensors. 2016 I do not have the TSS

If I wanted real front end protection (and great looks) I would get an ARB bumper. I had one on a Trooper and it was one of the best aftermarket items I have ever purchased.

And here is a Fab Fours full protection bumper...about half as much $ as the ARB
