Wow that’s nuts I don’t get that. Think they start at 60k here and go up.

I was sold on the Tundra the day it came out. Now 20 years later the reputation is just what I expected. Take it from somebody who has worked on every piece of shit made in America car. I loved working on the imports. Simple, less bullshit.......but, they didn't break down as much so Domestic cars were job security. When I was at Watkins Glen once, the pace car was a Toyota Tundra and that was very impressive. Tundra all day long. I dont go by others opinions, I go by fact. Working on vehicles all my life, I can tell bad engineering from good. Not saying the Tundra is flawless, but the Ford will be nothing but Flaws.

That was Canadian bucks too, but being in truck loving Alberta drives the prices up on the limited editions.

Uncle bought a f150 3.5 eco fully loaded for 60k and didn’t even get a bed liner. Put a metal tool box in the back and it slid around while driving. Made a 1” gash in the side of the aluminum bed! If you get one get a bed liner first thing! Oh I mean buy a Tundra!

I recently bought my tundra used from a ford dealer. My RCLB tundra is pretty basic and the ford dealer was joking thta I could have gotten into a quad cab with more options for the same money. Oh, and I'm in canada too, so I dont know what youre talking about. 10 year old fords are more often than not already bottomed out price wise around here.

What talked me out of a F150 was the fact that I know 3 people in 3 different areas of the country that have had rodents destroy their wiring because of the cheap soy based shielding they use on the wire harnesses.

I'm not advocating getting a Ford by any means but haven't a bunch of guys on here has issues due to rodents chewing the wiring in their Tundras?

Yeah I don't know if I would use that as a thing to avoid an F150. My sisters boyfriend had rodents chew wires in his 08 Chevy and I doubt they had soy based material in that.

If soy based wiring is cheaper to produce and cheaper to buy, why would you doubt automakers using it.

Wow. That. Is. Amazing. I love every bit of that. Having owned a Ford and dealt with multiple Ford dealerships and Ford corporate, I've been saying for years that they are a shitty company that builds junk vehicles. The only reason they're "the #1 best selling truck manufacturer" or whatever bull they spew in the ads is simply due to market saturation (likely due to fleet sales too), not quality. Now their shit is literally coming off the assembly line broken. It's glorious. :D

    2 words: Resale and Reliability.

Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner are continuously ranked top three highest resale vehicles on the market. Once you "buy in" to them, you can presumably afford to upgrade between the three vehicles without taking huge depreciations when compared to other manufacturers.

Toyotas are reliable simply because the engineers don't make changes with the rest of the market. This is why we are stuck with shitty gas mileage. They adopt what is tried and true - for good reason.

Ford lies about their mpg as do the others.
Tundra offers reliability and resale, retain more if your purchase price.

Just got rid of my 18’ F150. Fuel mileage was great, bells and whistle were convenient, but was using coolant and the dealership could not figure why. Also the timing belt was clicking on startup. If your thinking of getting a ecoboost, look up timing belt stretch or timing belt tensioner. Never had any issues with my 06’ tundra so I got rid of the F150 and went back to another Tundra. Fuel mileage sucks, but I am not worried about sitting on the side of the road either. If your looking for a reliable truck go with a Toyota. Consumer reports says, “the biggest advantage Toyota trucks have is their consistent superior reliability over domestic rivals.”
Good luck on a decision, and post some pictures of whatever you get.

They adopt what is tried and true - for good reason. If you keep the Petro companies happy, business will be good. They can make good mileage if they want to. It's all a corporate power thing.

I had three new ordered F150’s. Two of them were absolute trash and one was good. The two that were top of the line had the most issues like water leaking in constantly that it became comical, tail gates that didn't open and stuck and to make it worse there was no key hole, door latch issues, auto starter that never works, and recall notices of gears jumping around which could result in crash that would literally terrify you.

Oddly, my last F150 was a base XLT no frills and that was good and no issues and I put up decent mileage on that. My siblings had also 6 new F150’s between them and they all had similar issues of non stop warranty work, recalls and aluminum trucks that felt like like a soda can and flimsy.

I also had two Rams and those were similar to the ford and felt cheap and plastic feeling after year but less issues than the ford. I honestly didn’t mind the Ram.

But this is my second Tundra and every time I get in one, it honestly feels like a tank. No nonsense just straight up truck that will get you there, you just have to do the rest. Sure it has issues that bothered me like plastics that mark up easy inside, or questionable paint. But overall product was excellent and reliable and big from inside.

Lastly, I always notice people checking out my truck and give me compliments and envious looks from guys in other make trucks lol.

Man, it would be cool if Tundra had that automatic back-a-trailer-with-a-knob thingie on the Fords, and Chevy's "Invisible Trailer" thingie that lets you see behind your trailer. But...if Tundra had those, the features would have to work better than that freakin' integrated brake controller they provide. Something to be said for adopting proven technology. :(
