Yesterday the wife and I were out looking at houses. We stopped in front of one and I noticed a couple kids a few houses down coming out in the middle of the road glaring at us?. ( This is Texas so you don’t know what to expect!!) I payed them no never mind and we continued to look at the house for sale from the side of the road with flashers on. This house was in the outskirts of town so there isn’t much traffic on the road. I proceeded to get out of the truck and look at the property from the street and on my way back to the truck I look up and the couple of kids now were turning into about 7 or so as they were motioning for their friend to come out of the yard. I get in the truck and I look behind and look in front as we are getting ready to pull away and three or four of the male kids were staring us down acting all WE ARE TOUGH AND WHAT ARE LOOKING AT kind of stares. All their pants were off their asses sagging down, half their heads were shaved, hair multiple colors, and the look of street punks even on the girls. I would be willing to bet not a one was in school!! Only way out was to drive past them and of course they barely got out of the way and stood their ground. We passed them and as we did they had choice words for my wife and I. I stopped and backed up and asked if I could be of some help or if they needed something?!! One of the girls saw I was not in any mode to put up with their BS and said excuse them and grabbed the idiots and walked off all the time the guys were just yelling profanities and trash talking. Now this was just my wife and I looking at a house for sale, never seen this bunch before, never said a word to these morons, and ignored them the whole time!!?? What is with the youth these days and what type of parent is bringing this type of kid up??? In the 50s and 60s it was yes sir and no sir and if someone drove down your street you got out of the road and waved!! These are the kids doing meth and crack and the parents are so stupid they do not care to notice or doing it with them!, these are the kids breaking into to cars at night and homes during the days when people are at work!! If it would have progressed I would have just called some of my officer friends on duty, these kids are going to say the wrong thing to the wrong person and find themselves in a world of hurt I am afraid!! Anyone can make a baby and any moron can not do a good job in raising a child!! These folks will be the first one to rob and steal what they can without a care in the world and expect people to give them stuff their whole life!!! Things have changed for the worse!!! Be careful out there and be aware of your surroundings!!!

Just remember if you get that house those punks' loser parents will be your neighbors too. Definitely a sad state of affairs.

If you found any one of them alone and stomped your foot at them, they would have taken off running. Weak people form gangs.

I would be crossing that house off my list. It is very stressful living in, or near, bad neighborhoods. The last thing you want is to have to worry while you are at work if you someone might be breaking into your house or vandalizing your property. Sleep with the dogs and get fleas, right?

    ^^^ Please do this.

My son was looking for a house last year. While visiting a home on his list of potentials, his agent happened to park facing the wrong way on the side of the street in front of the house for sale. It only took 5 minutes before the busy-body neighbor lady across the street came knocking on the door and literally started yelling at him, telling him he needs to turn the car around RIGHT NOW! Blah, blah, blah... Who the heck wants to live next to someone like that!!

My son's agent did call the sellers agent to let him know what happened and to let him know they indeed lost the sale due to the neighbor.

On the positive side, at least she showed herself before he made an offer on the house.

I'm in pediatric health care so I see kids from a wide swath of backgrounds. Regardless of being poor, middle class or wealthy and regardless of parental presence or absence in the house parenting is a dying art. It ranges from no parenting to wanting to be the kid's best friend and the end result is the same - no adult captaining the ship and the ship is lost at sea.

I don’t lie!! You sound like one of those kids,,, “” I didn’t do anything honest””?? WOW you should get out more. We have that and worse happen everyday in Harris and Galveston county Texas. It’s all over the children these days have no respect for their elders and there is no parenting. If this bunch did or does go to school I would bet 7 out of the 9 or so will be in jail more than one time before they are 19!!!!
