Just had my 6112s installed at 1.3 setting. Was driving today and did a hard left turn in a parking lot to turn around into a spot. There was a banging noise coming from the drivers side. There was a bit of slope to the parking lot.

    Any ideas? Thx

Did it do this one time only? If so, perfectly normal, occurred on my Tundra and 4Runner with the 6112 setup. The coils needed to fully seat themselves in the top hat bearing you are using. In my case, I used a KYB top hat bearing for both, so I could keep my OEM coilovers intact.

It's the first time I went full lock with them on. And turned into a slope. It happened again when I turned again.. drove around in circles twice. Lol.. had to get into a bday party with my kids so I'll see if it continues

Keep us posted? If it is full lock and occurs more than once, I’d be more concerned with one of your bolts not being fully torque correctly. Or, wheels coming in contact with something like the skid.

Good, easy to eliminate the offset of after market wheels.

It should be something like an inaccurately torque bolt then. The 6112 doesn’t include a sway bar spaced or anything, so it’s really a factory replacement. Who assembled your shocks/coils?

I bet it’s not torqued down and the springs is separating and slamming. You got picks. Especially if the top bolts and main shaft nut

Possibly top hat bolts not tightened so coilover is slamming into shock tower like TundyFundy said. Or, possibly sway bar bolt left off. Or, even lower main coilover bolt left off. Or, depending on how they installed - like if they popped the top control arm ball joint on the spindle - perhaps they tightened by hand but forgot to torque it and seat the ball joint on the control arm.

How do you like the ride of the 6112 at 1.3 setting otherwise?

I'm fairly positive the shop screwed something up and either left a bolt off, or hand-tight at most.

The coilover top hat bolts are the most likely candidate - I have almost forgot to those a few times myself. Go out in your driveway and stick your hand on top of the shock tower and see if any of those four nuts are loose - to make a banging noise were talking very loose, you should be able to turn them by hand easily.

Most shops just tighten a couple uggu’s. They rarely put a torque wrench on stuff like this. Somethings probably not torqued down properly

You’re not going to visually see if anything is lose. You won’t know till you put a torque wrench on it and see what the nuts and bolts are at.

Try jacking up the truck and see if anything contacts oddly or clunks. Is it my eyes or does the washer on the top center shock nut look bent

Looks like it's way further down the nut unless yours wasnt tightened yet. Both sides look identical from my eye

Appears there is a missing nut on the rear coilover bolt.

    Um. You’re missing a nut....

    Or is it behind something?

eirher way, you need to put a torque wrench on there and see what you have

OP - you may also want to look closely at your cam towers? Looks like they may be leaking based on the photos you’ve posted.

You may be missing a top hat nut (though I think its just the angle of the pic), but either way I don't think that would matter - you have three tight ones - its not going to bang around like that.

The sway bar, lower coilover bolt, top hat bolts, coilover assembly and top control arm ball joint - all look fine.

It's so hard to say without hearing the noise, if its not too loud maybe its just the sway bar creaking a bit from the geometry change of being higher?
