Anyone around here used any of Viair products? Specifically the 400. I'm looking to pick up a small compressor to air up tires, and the options from ARB are pretty dang pricy. Not looking to mount it anywhere (just)

    I’ve got a 450. I chose it for the 100% duty cycle.

@Marty McFly and @TheBeast The 400 has a runtime of up to 40 minutes before needing to cool off, how long are you running yours that the 100% duty cycle is a big deal? I'm only going to be running 33" tires, so I was thinking that was probably enough run time to air all four back up?

I use the 400p auto. It brings my 295/70s from 20 to 35 in a little over a minute a tire. The air hose it comes with is nice too, its plenty long and doesn't drag the compressor around, it stays planted where you place it. Totally happy with mine. I cut off the battery clamps and wired it a 7pin trailer connector using the aux charging circuit. That way I just pop the tailgate and run it off the bed, easy peasy.

Did I miss your thread on this? Pics and parts list please.
I’m happy with my 400P. If I’d have known about this hack I wouldn’t have needed to buy an extra hose to reach my trailer tires.

Yeah, that's pretty damn clever, I'd also be curious to see how you did that.

I'm assuming you have a factory tow package. If you do, pin 4 is fed with a nice 40 amp circuit, pin 1 is ground.

Looking at your Viair battery clamps one side of the cable is ribbed and one is smoother. Make note of which one goes to positive and which goes to negative, cut them off.

Purchase a connector like this one from lowes and follow the diagram, wiring the positive side of the cable to pin 4 and negative to pin 1. (Be SURE to follow the trailer side of the diagram when wiring the connector)

Same rules apply, engine should always be running when firing compressor. Although, I believe this circuit runs through an ignition controlled relay so I don't think you have a choice.

I cut the alligator clips off my viair300 and made 2 pig tails.. one with the alligator clips and another with the 7 pin trailer plug...

Now i can run the compressor off the trailer plug and not open the hood.. and if i need to i can still connect direct to battery..

I have been happy with the Viair 400. I use it all the time on my 35s, and it works like a charm.
