Are Denso’s OEM? I thought NGKs were or does it matter on the year?

The manual in my 02 states NGK OR Denso. I thought someone determined 05-06 was different but I could be wrong.

    Yes :)

In all seriousness, your owners manual possibly shows the same as mine....Denso or NGK !

I've been adjusting my rear shoes a few clicks at a time over the past week or so. I'm making progress on pedal feel. I've been jacking up the rear axle and spinning the wheels to make sure they aren't dragging too much. The rear brakes are putting in more work now.

I know the parking brake is supposed to adjust them automatically but that hasn't happened even though the parking brake works great. I was going insane with the mushy pedal.

couple of quick questions y'all. Im due for new axles (01) whats everyone using these days? Is there a cheaper alternative to OE? Also, my 4x4 doesnt seem to engage. The light stays solid, I can hear the actuator click. But im not getting any binding at full lock. I've tried searching, but the results are flooded with blinking 4hi threads.

I wouldn't pay it but sounds about right....labor rate is usually $115-125/hr at dealerships, $6x8 plugs = $48...so an hour of labor, parts and shop fees.

I always thought that was hilarious. I remember when I had my 95.5 Tacoma 3.4L (R.I.P.:() getting handed 3 of each at the parts counter. I was like, "WTF?" ... I learned something bizarre that day.

As others have said, either/or. I just have a personal preference for the 'Denso' name in certain items. I'm comfortable with what I know works, I guess.

Changed the engine oil out with only 2k miles on it. Bought some SuperTech Gear oil for future. Picked out my wheel paint and will order it online.

I went to the junkyard today. I scored the plastic pieces that i wanted.
    The fuse panel cover
The fog light switch with dimmer plastic
The rubber bungie for the Jack.
A cd/tape JBL radio out of a sienna. It might fit.
A rearview mirror from a Chevy s10 with map lights.
2 GMC retractable cord light. In the engine compartment.
And the needed bolts for the fender install.

Not something I get to do very often. There's not a single Tundra in any junkyard within 250 miles of here. If they come in, they're stripped by parts-pulling-piranha in mere minutes, I swear.

Supposedly it’s best to get the chrome off before you paint them, easy off oven cleaner takes the chrome off and nose hairs off, in about 2 minutes flat.

I just wish the 04 DC turn signals were easier to take apart (since no one does a blacked out version)

I do like my semi-blacked raccoon eyes. I imagine you can bake and pull them apart like a headlight?

You should be able to use an 05/06 DC headlight/turn signal in your 04 DC the only difference I'm aware of is the added light in the corner for them. But you do have to buy both I believe.

My first attempt didn't go well. It is not the same type of sealant used on the headlights. It did seem to weaken in the heat, but I went a little too long and got wavy reflectors in addition to cracking the lens when I almost had it off!

I've been told the thing to do is make a fine dremel cut along the back edge of the housing/lens seal and just reglue it when painted. Not sure I'm good with that.

Not exactly. You have to cut the radiator support sheet metal to allow for a slightly bigger back on the 05/06, and the 04 headlight has a sharper radius on the inner corner of the headlight, which leaves a gap in the sheet metal when you use the 05/06. It is possible to get new "filler" pieces to go under the headlight from and 05/06, but they run right around $85 for each side, unpainted. I may still go that route.

were they blacked out housings? The per-2005 sequoia housings work perfectly, but I haven't found any of those with the turn signals on a black bezel either.
