Apparently, 51 miles isn't enough.

So, I went out to take the kids to school and warm up the truck this morning. It fired right up, dropped idle to almost stall, high idle again, then dead. I turned it over several times and it wouldn't start. I grabbed my wife's car and though I'd tackle the truck later.
I though about it and realized I had battery, not warnings, no codes, and everything else seemed ok. It sure did seem like I was out of fuel. I thought back to about a month ago when I had low fuel "O miles" and when I left my steep ass driveway it corrected to about 110.

I was thinking there is probably 10 gallons reserve plus another 4 gallons at my current mpg rating.

Anyway, I tried to start the truck again to no avail. I put it in neutral and coasted down the street to a flat spot. Low and behold it fired right up.

So, lesson learned. My driveway being steep AF and below a quarter tank is not a good combination.

Winter lesson. Or BFE standard operating procedure: never let the tank get below 1/4. Ever.

Yeah totally. It sucks. I used to park the other way and after the boys slammed their fingers in the door due to the weight of the door facing downhill I started parking backwards. Then the door flopping open to much on my 04' eventually weekend the hinge and ripped it out of the body. The 2017 doors are heavier but they have a catch midway so the kids don't let it flop open. Well at least if I miss a fuel up I know how to park that night.

I always park like that, though I think my driveway is less steep than yours.

As soon as I get below half a tank, I start watching for gas prices to go down.

Also if it's an in-tank pump, the gas keeps it running cooler, so good to keep above 1/4 tank.
